As for the songs on Keith's CD, Written
in Stone", Keith wrote or co-wrote five of the ten songs. I'd like to also point out
that Keith is no beginner when it comes to who he works with. One of my favorite talents,
Eric Horner co-produced this album, played acoustic guitar, sang background vocals and
wrote track #9, "What Would Jesus Do?, which Keith portrays beautifully.
I knew Keith had talent the moment I
heard him sing. My impression of Keith was confirmed when I saw that Eric Horner worked
with Keith on the album. You see, I became of big fan of Eric's when I reviewed him years
ago for MKOC.
Keith also croons two of Porter
Wagoner's songs. "Just for the Lonely Ones" and "Country Style". Now,
please, don't get all upset with me but I was just never a big fan of Porter's singing,
which blinded me to the fact that he was also a great songwriter. It took Keith Kelso to
bring those tunes alive for me.
Someday, somewhere in Texas, I foresee
Keith Kelso's name forever "Written In Stone" for his contributions to country
music and Texas Pride!
