Date: Saturday, August 16th, 2003
Time: 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Message from Mr. Bailey:

Every year I usually do a big preliminary talent competition for the "Mid South Fair" and the national finals are held for an entire week in Memphis, TN in September.

I have a sanction to do a preliminary in Nashville and portion of the money from the door and entry fees ($25.00 each) goes to a youth scholarship fund and then another portion goes to a charity of my choice...so, I thought that CAF would be the one to use a portion of it.

Terri Lynn, Nashville Blues artist will be helping by getting some prizes donated for the local competition and I have a location secured for the event here in Nashville, "The French Quarter Cafe" (specializes in Cajun Cuisine and has a huge stage and all the sound and lights we need). The date for the talent event is Saturday, August 16th, 2003 starting at 2:00pm until 6:00pm.

Winners here will go on to the nationals in Memphis and have a chance to win over $10,000 in cash plus a all expense round trip to Hollywood (if a minor, parent goes with them paid also), a $3,000 portfolio by a famous New York photographer, trophy and when in Hollywood, they have a pre-arranged audition for a part on a major CBS Television show. "CBS" is one of the major sponsors of this competition!!!! There are two age categories for the competition: Juniors (ages 1-11) and Seniors (12-21)....all types of talents are welcomed....singing (any kind of music), rap, gospel, rock, country, etc....also, dancers, dance groups, baton twirlers, comedians, actors wanting to do a short scene, musicians, etc.

The National Competition is the world's oldest amateur talent contest in the USA and past winners have been Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Jessica Andrews, LeAnn Rimes, Justin Timerlake and Lanace Bass of "N'SYNC", Faith Hill and tons of others!!!! The contest celebrates its "51st Anniversary" this year!!! So, you might want to put the word out for contestants and any state is welcomed to come and have their contestants enter. They can call 615-780-2955 and leave a message, address and phone number for an entry form.

To donate door prizes and winner's prizes, send to:
