The "Wade Hayes" pages (link below) were written when Wade first hit the country music scene with his first album, Since then, Wade went through the ups and downs that Nashville's Music Row has put many artists through. He was dropped by his label, Sony Music after his third CD release didn't fare well... truth be told, it was during country music's "pop" phase that all of this occurred and Sony did nothing to promote Wade or his last album, then dropped him. Fortunately for all we Wade fans, he didn't give up and country record labels learned the hard lesson that you can't get rich sellin' pop to country fans, unless of course it's an RC Cola with a Moon Pie! Universal South saw great potential and paired Wade with Mark McClurg, former band member of Alan Jackson. Together they became McHayes. While they're basically starting from "scratch"... they have an edge on the "newcomer" scene as Wade's fans have remained forever faithful and Mark's prowess from working in AJ's band is well known. Together they create a spendid sound and their first released album has won critical acclaim from reviewers world-wide.
