Combine the huge popularity of Daniel O'Donnell and that of the late great
Jim Reeves and you have a sure-fire formula for success. And that's exactly what Rosette
Records have done with their latest release Welcome To My World, which was a huge
worldwide hit for Jim Reeves, and is the title of Daniel's latest album.
Daniel's new album, Welcome To My World, contains no less than 23 tracks all dedicated to
the memory of Jim Reeves. This year happens to be the 40th anniversary of Jim Reeves'
death and as such there is a great revival of interest in this iconic country music star
who had an incredible 26 UK chart entries in the 60s and 70s.
Needless to say Daniel has included all the major Reeves classics and biggest hits in the
album among them, Distant Drums, He'll Have To Go, Adios Amigo, Moonlight & Roses,
You're The Only Good Thing, There's A Heartache Following Me and we can't forget the title
track Welcome To My World.
Although Daniel wasn't even of school going age when Jim Reeves died in a plane crash near
Nashville in 1964, it was Reeves music that played a significant part in encouraging the
young Daniel to sing and ultimately pursue the hugely successful career he has today.
Daniel's career continues to go from success to success. He has had two albums in the UK
Top Twenty in the last year - the most recent being The Jukebox Years which reached No.3
in March 2004. His last DVD/Video was a No.1 in the combined UK music video charts in
November last year.He also has albums in the Billboard charts in America and recently
returned from highly successful tours of America, Australia and New Zealand.
He is currently finishing up a UK tour before jetting off on a series of
dates and a very special national TV show in the States in November.( Welcome To My World:
