Lyrics 6 - "Blue Rose"

lg-bullet-gold.gif (1240 bytes) "What Is To Be Will Be"

This song was written over several years. I knew it had a good hook, but sometimes the theme doesn't gel. I finished it the night before we took it in the studio, and it was there the sax came into play.

Love ain't worth the pain and heartache
That's the way I used to think
They'd be there a dime a dozen
All I had to do was wink
You were not yet in the picture
And it's so true now what they say

For everyone there is someone

One who'll steal your heart away

What a lovely world I live in
Life was never kind before
When I think that's all there is
You keep coming up with more
Just a basking in your sweetness
A lucky loser on a roll
I recall my past and shudder
Once a wreck and now I’m whole

Chorus:
You made me over-overnight
Now every-everything is right
You've really wet my appetite
You made me over-overnight
You made me over-overnight
I'm higher than a satellite
I'm still in shock, but that's alright
You made me over-overnight

Texas is a big state, and there is a little bit of everything there. I also spend four months of the year there, so I’ve adopted it as my second home.

Cho: when you say Texas
You say a lot
Anything that's out there
Texas has got
Even if you have, no Texas drawl
When you say Texas
You've said it all

1. Each state has treasures
They call their own
But facts are out there
Though little known
When god saw Texas
Had all the best
From bits and pieces
He made the rest

2. It's Texas friendly
Everywhere you go
You'll find a touch of
Old Mexico
While you're in Texas
There's one more thing
It's the home of bob wills
And Texas swing

3. From Oklahoma
To the Rio Grande
New Mexico- to Louisian
Millions of Texans
Can't all be wrong
I've found a place now
Where I belong
