Lyrics 4 - "Blue Rose"

lg-bullet-gold.gif (1240 bytes) "Pretty Flowers"

Kim Martin was doing some recording at my studio
and had this song partially written and I liked the
song so we finished writing it.

By green meadows, we fell in love
Flowers still were wet with dew
You said don't pick them, but I did
Pretty Flowers just for you

I saw the love there in your eyes
Love that made our dreams come true
We brought these children to this world
Pretty Flowers just for you

Cho: Pretty Flowers just for you
Picked in love as lovers do
We are blessed that's why God grew
Pretty Flowers just for you

You have peace now, there is no pain
So till I can get there too
I'll send flowers from green meadows
Pretty Flowers just for you

2nd Cho: Pretty Flowers just for you
Picked in love as lovers do
Angel wings will bring to you
Pretty Flowers and my love too

Tag: Picked each morning from green meadows

This song was written for my Mother and has been released in different versions on earlier tapes, and has been very well received, That is why it was re-recorded and Included on this project. This song was so personal I couldn't sing it for quite awhile after it was written. I still choke up when I sing it.

1. In my childhood memory
Mamma would come to me
And say it's beddy bye time of the night
She's kiss my cheek so sweet
Hum a tune and tuck the sheet
And always said as she turned out the light

Cho:
I'll see you in the morning, I love you
Say your prayers and close your peepers tight
I'll see you in the morning, I love you
That's how Mom always said goodnight

Tag:
That's how she always said goodnight

2. I get home much as I can
Feel the touch of Mamma's hand
She tells me that I'm living much too fast
Lying here in my old bed
Precious memories flood my head
And Mom peeks in and says these words at last

3. Oh so many years have passed
And a fortune I have massed
But I'd trade it all for what I'm losing now
We've just said our good byes
And before she closed her eyes
I know that what she said is true somehow
