"A Love Song
For Us"
These people are in love and they can only find cheating and
fighting songs, So they would like to find a song to fit their needs.
The juke box is playing
A song of broken love
Their singing the blues
For one they're thinking of
They're cheating on each other
And creating such a fuss
Oh please, please somebody
Sing a Love Song For Us
Sing about the happy hours
We share everyday
Sing about the trust we have
When one is away
Tell how we show our love
Though jealous tongues may buzz
Oh please, please somebody
Sing A Love Song For Us
I'd like to find a song
That would tell my love for you
Not one one that would end
By finding someone new
To some they might have meaning
But our needs are obvious
Oh please, please somebody
Sing A Love Song For Us
Sing about the plans we have
And how they're coming true
And we won't have to worry
There'll be no one new
To us now a broken heart
Seems so ridiculous
Oh please, please somebody

"I Took Your Memory For A Walk" This
song I wrote over 40 years ago and through my years of playing Honky-Tonks it was a
favorite with the Folks who wanted a shuffle song. I first recorded this song 1958 and
many times since.
I just spent a happy day by your side
Made believe our love had never been denied
I told you little things I longed to say
When I Took Your Memory For A Walk today
Cho: I walked back to where we shared our first kiss
Made believe our love had never come to this
I almost forgot dreams had gone astray
When I Took Your Memory For A Walk today
I walked slowly as I watched the sun go down
Then I took another stroll back into town
Saw your ring in the window on display
When I Took Your Memory For A Walk today
Cho:
I looked again at the house we almost bought
And the memory was such a happy thought
Then I slowly turned around and walked away
When I Took Your Memory For A Walk Today
