Lyrics 2 - "An Old Song"

lg-bullet-gold.gif (1240 bytes) "Heart By Heart"

John Voit brought this idea to me at least 5 years before I could get the right approach on what I wanted the song to say. It evolved into a nice shuffle.

Intro: I guess by now you know my Heart By Heart

I would have you to believe,
I could walk right out and leave
But your sixth sense is a Masters work of art
You play along with no concern
And you'd think it's time I'd learn
That by now you know My Heart By Heart

Cho: It's the nature of a Man, To push the Envelope
And the nature of a Woman's,
Not to give Him too much rope
You're my Guardian Angel
Every time I'm not too smart
Cause by now you know My Heart By Heart

Way down deep inside I know
I would have no place to go
If not for you my whole world would fall apart
Like a spoiled unruly Kid
Getting by with things He did
Cause by now You know My Heart By Heart

This song is one I've had in my files for forty years. I had demo'd it many years ago with me an a guitar and my Buddy Leo Hagen (Shirley's Sugar Shack) had a copy of it and He liked the song and thought I should record it, and I'm glad I did.

Cho: When Someone Gets Hurt
By someone they love
The Rejection is crushing,
There's tears and there's pain
When Someone Gets Hurt
By someone they love
The question is how,
Can they trust love again

Tag: Somehow I must learn
To trust love again

For better or worse,
Till death do us part
Millions have vowed,
Millions have broken hearts
I don't want this to happen,
But I'm wanting to cry
There's a big empty space
Where once stood You and I

Steps have been taken
And it hurts me to know
Sooner or later
I must let you go
With all We had between us
How could everything die
Now I stand alone
Where once stood You and I
