TY MURRAY'S CELEBRITY BULL RIDING CHALLENGE

Ty Murray is known as the King of the Cowboys. He's the only seven-time All Around Rodeo Champion and is regarded as the Michael Jordan of his sport. But now he's taking on his greatest challenge -- teaching nine celebrities to ride a bull.

Murray is bringing nine stars from the entertainment and sports world to his sprawling 2000-acre ranch in Stephenville, Texas, for an intense bull riding boot camp. The celebrities will be taught the techniques and toughness it takes to survive riding an angry 1,800-pound bull.

Bull riding has been described as the world's most dangerous sport, and no one knows what will happen when these celebrity novices try their hand at one of the toughest challenges known to man. Some of the celebrities may chicken out, while others may be sidelined by injuries.

The nine courageous guys who are stepping up to take on the challenge are musician Vanilla Ice, actor Stephen Baldwin, actor/musician Leif Garrett, actor Dan "Nitro" Clark, actor Francesco Quinn, former football star "Rocket" Ismail, Ultimate Fighter Josh Haynes, X-Games motorcycle legend "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram and Survivor reality star Jon "Jonny Fairplay" Dalton.

These celebrities will quickly move from mechanical bull to riding some of the biggest, meanest animals from the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) tour. If the celebrities can conquer their fear, avoid injuries and get a passing grade from Murray, at the end of their training they'll ride in front of a packed auditorium at a PBR event in Nashville. The celebrities will even get a chance to pick their poison, choosing which legendary bull they'll ride in the finale. It's the ultimate man versus beast showdown.

The celebrities will get instruction and advice from Murray, legendary cowboy Cody Lambert and some of the greatest riders from the PBR tour.

Ty Murray, a founding member of the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is retired from competition.

SUZANNE WYATT HONORED BY NASHVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL AT 'WOMEN OF INFLUENCE' LUNCHEON

Suzanne_Wyatt_300x225.jpg (3866 bytes)Nashville, TN – Just a short 2 weeks ago, the Nashville Business Journal held the "Women of Influence" Awards Banquet and Luncheon at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. The event was designed to recognize thirty individuals for their dedication to furthering the Nashville community as well as their impact on the non-profit and/or corporate world.

With over 200 nominations, the award-selecting committee narrowed the pool down to 30 amazing women. In that illustrious group was Suzanne Wyatt!!!

Suzanne Wyatt has spent the better part of 18 years in Nashville serving the music community, either in the studio or at TNN/CMT in the industry/artist relations department. It was during those years, she joined the EAR Foundation Board of Directors looking for a way to help those in the music industry with hearing issues. In 2003, Wyatt became the Ear Foundation Executive Director and has helped the organization become the "Official Hearing Protection Provider" for Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Fest this year.

"I suffered from high frequency hearing loss, something that is extremely present in the music industry," says Wyatt. "I just wanted to help my friends, so they could protect themselves."

It is that kind of thoughtfulness, forward thinking, and humanitarian work that Suzanne Wyatt is all about.

New Ways to Market Art and Music

In the new world of fast connections and readily available art and music, artists and musicians are taking the marketing of their creations in their own hands. Here are some of the creative ways people are going direct with their creations to the people they want to target:

Kris Miller - The Senior Life Coach

Kris Miller is a soulful California post-Hippie who spent twenty years of her life as a sandal-wearing missionary, preaching the gospel and singing with a choir for whom she wrote original songs. Since leaving the touring missionary life, she has continued to write and perform songs within several genres, including the Christian Country or Inspirational Country genre. Albeit, she is not a country singer per se she has a warm rootsy delivery that fits. Her concerts are wonderful at churches, but she has found that booking churches for musical concerts has proven very difficult. Kris Miller, a certified senior planner has created a seminar to help people plan the wills and living trusts for a fraction of the cost attorney's do. She is studied and credentialed to legally fill out forms for people looking to protect their assets. She has created a package for churches to offer a seminar for senior planning on a Saturday morning, a full concert for the public at the church on Saturday night, and staying to provide special music on Sunday mornings. Pairing useful seminar information with music is just one creative way to get music to people, and help them at the same time. For more information on Kris Miller, www.KrisMillerMusic.com. She is also posted on myspace as The Senior Life Coach.

Lisa Dudley - Grief Healing Through Music

Lisa Dudley is a folk singer with music described as "New Age Country" because she sings of angels, hope, and dreams in a comforting mother-earth voice. Her CD, "Angel on My Shoulder" is a beautiful collection that has proven very helpful in grief recovery. Lisa has found that booking small intimate gatherings for grief centers and grief support groups, she can speak and share her music, helping people through a very difficult time. The letters she has received from all over the world about the healing quality of her music have been overwhelming. Music as art and as ministry has become a new avenue in a world aching for pain relief. Her website for music sampling and booking is www.LisaDudley.com. Her music can also be found on myspace and on Neil Young's website with Songs for Peace.

Kim McLean -- The Keynote Singer

Kim McLean is a minister first, whose award winning songs have been used for years by other recording artists in their ministries and live performances to move people. She's had Gospel awards, country music awards, songwriter awards, and Americana awards. While all awards are an honor, the most rewarding part of music is directly sharing it with people who are moved, touched, and healed. Singing in both secular and religious venues, Kim McLean's music does not change. It is positive and reaffirms a human being's purpose and place in this world. Kim McLean has created a corporate message and music program which goes into the boring-convention keynote world and shakes it to its very core with heartwarming songs that awaken the spirits of a dying world. Kim refers to herself as a keynote singer, and blends music and message in individually customized programs for companies seeking a different kind of presentation at their conventions. Many event planners are at a loss trying to present a keynote people will not only attend but enjoy. Kim McLean has created a solution to this event planner's nightmare. She has joined forces with national radio host, Devon O'Day who is no stranger to public speaking. They weave story and song for a delightful moving keynote for a variety of companies. Kim McLean doesn't fit the picture of the blazer-wearing keynote speaker, so looks alone make convention attendees curious enough to show up. Her soft-spoken manner and honey-laden North Carolina accent win their attention, and before long even the hardest of hearts loosen and even tight-suited businessmen have been known to shed a tear. Devon O'Day brings original humor, and does personal research on the hiring company so that the message is perfectly slanted to their individual needs. Finding the emotion under the harsh exterior of business is healing and is creating a wave of change in corporate America. Kim McLean and Devon O'Day are booked through the Nashville Speaker's Bureau in Nashville, TN at 615-263-4143. Their joint website is www.kimanddevon.com, while both have individual sites as well.

Music is not just for radio anymore. It's a soul-healer. It's a wonderful way to accentuate practical matters and make them fun. There is a huge world with a need for music in new and exciting ways. Instead of complaining about all the ways the major companies or mainstream radio don't fill our needs, let us branch out and find our own new ways to share our art with the world!

Blessings from HCT Media!
