There's just so much going on that it's taken me a few days just to
get the news together. It would help if I could get my act together as well.. then maybe I
could finish all my work faster and easier! Ahhh.. y'all know me by now.. who am I tryin'
to kid? I'll never really get it together.. I'm doin' good if my flag waves at half mast!
Now I have a couple of special offers for y'all to try out
this week... and no, it costs nothin' to try. First is a free test of Kapersky Anti-Virus
which you can run right online. If you like that, you can also download a test version to
try out on your PC.
My second offer is even bigger and if there's a few folks
out there willin' to test this out... you could get the program for FREE! HA! Now I've got
your attention! LOL
First things first:
Virus Scan: Detect Viruses and Spyware with our Online Scanner
Our free online virus scanner is a great way to find out if you
have any viruses or spyware on your machine without having to uninstall your current
antivirus software or install a new one. Most importantly, you can see what viruses your
current antivirus software let slip through! You just need to be online and using Internet
Kapersky is my AV of choice and I use it on both my desktop and laptop PCs
so I'm not just trying to sell it, I recommend it whole heartedly. I first installed it on
my laptop. I liked it so much and my Norton AV was ready to expire on my desktop that I
then ordered the full sha-bang of Kaspersky Open Space
Security 6.0 When I installed it,
it found a lot of problems that Norton missed! Kapersky not only found the bugaboos, it
fixed them! I highly recommend Kapersky to anyone looking for Anit-virus software! If
nothing else, give it a test run.. it doesn't cost anything to test it out. I'll warn you,
Kapersky is a little higher in price than the other AVs but even if you pay full price for
it, it's well worth it. I'll also let ya in on a little secret... shhhhhhhhh! If you find
the price is too steep at the Kapersky site, go to Amazon.com or Buy.com
and check it out. They often have rebates available! I got my first order at Amazon and
with the cut price and the rebates, I got it for FREE.. my favorite price! ;)
Now for Free Software 2:
DivX : A DVD
experience in DivX video
I've created a special page so you can learn
all about the brand new DivX Author software. If you think this is something you'd like to
try out, then download the free version and work with it. I've been working with the sales
representative and he's allowing me to give MKOC subscribers a special offer... FREE
Software! And yes.. there's a catch to it but it's an easy one.
Here's the deal. I have already obtained 5 key
codes to unlock the trial versions of the product which makes them the full version. Now
these keys are set for Windows 2000/XP. The first 5 users who send me their rave reviews
of DivX Author will receive the key code which would normally cost you nearly $40 and you
keep the software.. All FREE! And just so y'all know I'm playin' fair here.. I don't get
paid any commission for the free software. This is my gift to you just for trying it and
letting me know how you like it. I prefer to advertise products that I know are tried and
true.. by me and you! :)
Check out the DivX
page, download the software and give it a whirl. You've got nothin' to lose and free
software to gain! :)
INCENTIVE for ARTISTS... when
using DivX, you can post your videos freely on Stage6 which is partnered with DivX!
Find Books, Music, Videos, Software, Electronics, Website Hosts/Servers .... Don't pay the
high prices you find in the stores. I've researched the links posted to give everyone an
opportunity to buy great things at the best prices.
Artists, be sure to check out the "Info" section as it's been updated with even
more info.. web links, sheet music, instruments and more.
New show dates have been added to
Narvel's site for August.Check the schedule so you won't miss the next show nearest you!

CRACKER BARREL'S JOSH TURNER RELEASE GARNERING RAVE REVIEWS
Nashville, TN Since releasing "Live at the
Ryman" exclusively through Cracker Barrel Old Country Store on July 3, 2007, Josh
Turner has received rave reviews for the live album.
About.com says of the album and Josh, "the way he wraps that deep voice around the
notes sends shivers right down your spine." And Music News Nashville says,
hear real honest country music brought forth to you in creative ways that
makes anyone who loves country music beg for more."
The Albany Herald says, "You pop in the CD and as soon as you hear the first baritone
note ooze from the speakers to your ears, you have to do a double take."
The Ryman, with all of its history and glory, might make some artists tremble when
thinking about where they're performing, but Josh's voice shows no sign of edge. The
Tennessean writes, "While it's been said that spirits of past Opry performers haunt
country music's mother church, Josh didn't sense any of them while singing."
Paul Davis with New Christian Music writes, "Great musicianship combined with Josh's
quality voice makes for an album where the personality is forefront resplendent with rough
The album, which contains thirteen songs including legendary hits such as George Jones'
"He Stopped Loving Her Today" and Hank Williams' "I'll Never Get Out of
This World Alive," will soon be featured in the July 30 edition of Country Weekly.
On the album, Josh performs one of Merle Haggard's most recognizable songs, "Silver
Wings." "Every time we start that song off, everybody knows what we're about to
play," says Josh. "It's very recognizable and it's one of those classic Merle
The album also contains some of Josh's own songs including, "Backwoods Boy," a
song Josh wrote in his apartment after graduating from college. "I basically just sat
down and was trying to write a song about my growing up, spending a lot of time outdoors,
hunting and fishing and just being outdoors," says Josh. "I wrote quite a few
songs there and that was one of them."
Josh's 2003 debut, "Long Black Train," is certified platinum. His success
continued when his sophomore release, "Your Man," debuted at No. 1 on Billboard
magazine's Top Country Albums chart and has since been certified double platinum.
Josh Turner: Live At the Ryman is Turner's third CD and is available only in Cracker
Barrel stores or online at www.crackerbarrel.com

NASCAR welcomes Rhonda, Racing, and Bluegrass to Indy
Indianapolis, IN ----The All American Bluegrass Girl - Rhonda Vincent, and
NASCAR Racing, paired together for a night of bluegrass at the track, on Saturday, July
28, 2007, at O'Reilly Raceway Park.
The 7-consecutive IBMA "Female Vocalist of the Year", treated the race fans to
her high-octane brand of bluegrass, with a performance before the race, sponsored by
Martha White and Kroger.
After the hour long concert, Rhonda sang the National Anthem, before they revved their
engines to begin the Kroger 200, originally broadcast on ESPN2.
Rhonda is from Missouri, the Show-Me state, as is the NASCAR Busch Series point leader
Carl Edwards. Carl and Rhonda had a moment to visit (see photo), before she traded the
track for the pits, when she was invited by the FreeCreditReport team to assist pit side.
Moments after the bluegrass star joined the pit crew, a crew member of a neighboring pit
was struck by an incoming car, just a few feet away. He was able to walk to first aide
with abrasions to his nose, and later taken to the hospital.
This kind of excitement has followed the New Queen of Bluegrass throughout 2007. She
enjoyed a double Grammy nomination for her project "All American Bluegrass
Girl", and that title song was recently chosen for a scene in the popular CBS soap
opera "As The World Turns".
She and her band "The Rage" just received 18 second round ballot nominations for
the upcoming International Bluegrass Music Awards, held in Nashville, TN on October 4,
Rhonda Vincent & The Rage will join NASCAR again on August 23, 2007 in Bristol, TN,
when they perform for the Food City Family Race Night.
Watch a repeat of Rhonda's anthem performance at the Kroger 200 on Thursday, August 2, at
12:00PM EST. http://www.speedtv.com/programs/150/

LEROY POWELLS SELF-TITLED DEBUT SOLO ALBUM
SET FOR DIGITAL RELEASE ON JULY 31
native, Leroy Powell will bring his
sound, to a digital player near you with the release of his self-titled solo debut album
LEROY POWELL on July 31 on all major digital music service providers.
Best known as lead guitarist for the SHOOTER JENNINGS BAND, the .357s, Leroy
finally made the time to record his own album in 2006. The 11 song album features the
single Keep the Diamond, I Go To Extremes and
Vacation. Notably, the video for Keep the Diamond was co-directed
by actress GINA GERSHON and ROBIN DAVEY of the band The Bastard Fairies.
Described in a recent interview by Guitar Player Magazine as having, "half his riffs
smell like beer and honky-tonks, while the other half sound like redneck cousins of Led
Zeppelin," Powell combined the many musical influences he's been surrounded by over
the years to create an, "honest, tell it like it is" album that will appeal to
both his fans from Shooter as well as new ones.
Originally a tenor saxophone player, Leroy started playing guitar at the age of 10. He
started his first band at the age of 12 with his brother Chris (with whom he still plays).
He started playing guitar, harmonica, pedal steel, and vocals with SHOOTER JENNINGS in
2003. He went on to record four SHOOTER JENNINGS albums, as well as touring regularly with
the band. He also has several original cuts on those records, including "Lonesome
Blues," "Hair of the Dog," "The Alligator Chomp" (performed by
TONY JOE WHITE), "Slow Train" (on the new record, sung with THE OAKRIDGE BOYS).
His song, "Busted in Baylor County," was featured in the movie "The Dukes
of Hazzard." His touring with Shooter has allowed him to share the stage with the
likes of WILLIE NELSON, HANK JR, DAVID ALLANCOE and LYNYRD SKYNRD. And he wrote the
single, "Dream," for R&B artist, ALICE SMITH. Leroy played all of the
guitars on the upcoming posthumous WAYLON JENNINGS album. In addition, LEROY produced,
co-wrote, and played for GINA GERSHON's upcoming album In Search of Cleo set for release
on August 28.

TRISHA IS BILLBOARD'S HOT SHOT DEBUT
Yearwood, whose new single, Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of Love is
Billboards Hot Shot Debut song this week, knew the track was special from the moment
she recorded it: This song came to my producer Garth Fundis from writers Tia Sillers
and Clay Mills, recalls Trisha. And the thing is, with any song, you never
know if its going to end up like you think it will until you go into the studio and
record it. Sometimes you think a song is going to sound incredible and it just
doesnt work out, and then other times songs you arent so sure about end up
being your favorite things. more!

I like cows, I think they're cute...
Walkin' in their big cow suit.
They give me milk, they give me cheese.
They give me hoof and mouth disease.
My friend the cow and that's no bull.
Around the cowhouse I got pull.
If cream and butter ain't enough,
She's got lots of udder stuff.
Who gives me milk? Who gives me cheese?
Who gives me hoof and mouth disease?
I like to have my friends around,
(But) I'll take cows when the chips are down.
I dig the ducks down on the lake. (quack quack quack)
They're fun to pet or roast or bake.
Short on ears and short on teeth
Damp and fuzzy underneath.
I think that worms are hard to beat...
Got no hair and they got no feet.
Pop 'em in the ice cube tray...
Drop 'em and they ricochet.
Who gives me milk? Who gives me cheese?
Who gives me hoof and mouth disease?
I like to have my friends around,
(But) I'll take cows when the chips are down.

"It was the Dallas CD Release Party at the Sons of Hermann Hall in downtown Dallas.
The parking lot was packed. Randy and the band rattled the timbers of the legendary venue
with thunderous renditions of the "Dope Slap Soup" material. Randy drove the
band on drums, harp and with his vocals while Matt Woodburn's guitar solos were show
stoppers. Billy Acord played an inspired bass. The band took at least two full standing

Jokers Wild Band to Perform for Soldier's Angels
The Jokers Wild Band will be headlining a Soldiers'
Angels benefit concert this Thursday, August 2, from 6:30 PM until 9:30 PM, for over 500
wounded US Soldiers, to be held at Brooke Army Medical Center (Fisher House), in Fort Sam
Soldier's Angels mission is to provide aide and comfort to the men and women of the United
States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and the Coast Guard and their amazing families.
Their slogan describes the motivation behind Soldiers' Angels. By working together and
sharing a common vision of service, the volunteers of Soldiers' Angels send care to
deployed soldiers and their loved ones at home.
To date, the volunteers of Soldiers Angels have sent tens of thousands of care packages
and hundreds of thousands of letters to our deployed heroes; they have helped those who
have been wounded with their First Response Packs directly at the Combat and Support
Hospitals (CASH) and at the major hospital in Germany, as well as providing care and
comfort to those who are now in our military hospitals here at home; they have provided
aid to military families in need; they have provided flights to soldiers on leave or in
emergency situations and to their families to be with their loved ones upon return from
Iraq and Afghanistan; they have provided level III KEVLAR Armor blankets to provide our
heroes with some protection in their vehicles when it was needed; they help to honor the
families whose loved ones have paid the ultimate price for our freedom and safety. This
and much, much more has been accomplished by the many volunteers of this organization with
the assistance of their generous supporters on behalf of the grateful citizens of the
United States of America.
From its very inception, the focus of Soldiers' Angels has been: Helping to bring home
healthy soldiers. Their motto is "May No Soldier Go Unloved."
Jokers Wild will donate a portion of all proceeds it receives from the downloading of its
original songs, current single "Please Catch Me" and "And The Rain,"
to the Soldiers Angels Organization. Jokers Wild's music is available on iTunes.
"This show is going to be quite an honor for us," says Buck Thomas, "as
several of the people associated with our band have prior or current military attachments.
I myself am an Army Brat who was born in Tague, Korea, while my Father was stationed
overseas. Our male lead singer, Mario Flores, lost an Uncle in Vietnam. Our bass player,
Dave Clayton, has a Father that served his entire career with honor in the US military.
Our lead guitarist, Dale Burch, currently has a Brother stationed in Iraq, and our
Producer, Frank Lisenbee, is an active Chief Master Sergeant stationed at Lackland AFB.
All of this to say "Jokers Wild supports our troops!" We hope to bless these
soldiers with the love we express through our music! May God bless the USA."

"Come n' See Us...The World Does"
** We Don't Write The News...We Report The News **
Fox Mountain Newsletter Sent July 29th 2007
July 29th, 2007
RE: 4th Annual Fox Mountain Country Music Festival, Aug. 2-5, 2007
6128 Aylesford Road, Nova Scotia, Canada, B0P 1C0
Phone: 902 847 3747
(Near Berwick, in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada)
The weather is warm & there is something in the air. For those of you who will attend
the festival, it is your license to let go, slow down and enjoy the atmosphere. For the
rest of you, what can I say! Perhaps another time you will make it. As you pull up to the
gatehouse you will be met by friendly staff to welcome you and to answer all your
questions. >From the moment you arrive you should leave all your worries and cares
behind you. Instead, feel like you are welcomed into one big party where the objective is
to have nothing more than happy memories and where your biggest goal is to have fun. If
you are not as mobile as some, we have an on grounds shuttle wagon to help make your stay
easier for you. I highly recommend to everyone, at some point before you leave, to hop on
board and take a scoot around the perimeter of the festival site. There really is more to
the camping area than just the stage area.
Too often people say I like all kinds of music
..except country. What
many dont realize is that the country genre is as varied as any other style and
appeals to a wide audience. I have tried to make the 4th Annual something for everyone.
The line up includes the L & A Cloggers Dance Team, comedian Laurent dEntremont,
Rough Edges, the family bands of both the Bowes Brothers from Ontario and the Berard
family Band from Louisiana, USA, Har-Money Made, Hardcore Troubadours from NB (who do a
step back in time to the outlaw era, but with their own twist), Triple Time, Ryan Cook
& Sunny Acres,Valley Gospel Ramblers, Tumbleweed, Chelsea Nesbitt Band, Mark Cameron,
Kevin Davison, Audra Raulyns, Gary Halliday, Rachel Mattie, Matthew Stanton, John Cyr,
Graham Moorehead, Joyce & Keith Delong, and Floyd & Jo-Ann Spicer. Over all, I
have had over 70 musicians to keep in touch with for this year alone, with lots of emails
and phone calls back and forth, but well worth the effort, I may add.
It wouldnt be possible without my right-arm, so to speak- my own band Total Country.
Gordie Giles, Neil Brown, George Daine, Dale Boutilier and Bob McDonald work hard to make
things run smoothly for me. They have been with me 19, 15, 11, 9, and 3 years
respectively. That says a lot!
As I put this last newsletter together before the festival, one week from now it will be
all over but the memories. Plans have already started for our 5th Anniversary, July 31st,
Aug 1-2-3, 2008.
Until next time, my personal thought for today is: Some treasures are meant to be kept,
but other treasures should be shared.
