MONTGOMERY GENTRY TO AID WILLIE NELSON IN FARM AID
2007
(Nashville, TN)- Country music duo MONTGOMERY GENTRY will join the legendary Willie Nelson
in Farm Aid 2007 which will be held for the first time in New York on September 9th at
Randall's Island. Montgomery Gentry is the only other country act announced thus far on
this star-studded lineup for the day-long festival. The show will promote food from family
farmers and raise funds for Farm Aid's work throughout the year to strengthen family farm
agriculture.
"Thanks to a warm welcome from Mayor Bloomberg and New Yorkers, Farm Aid is bringing
their annual concert to New York for the first time in 22 years," said Carolyn Mugar,
Farm Aid's executive director. "With inspiring music from generous artists and a menu
of family farm food, Randall's Island will be transformed into a music festival to be
remembered."
"Farming was the way my family was raised. We were farming in the morning and playing
music at night," said Eddie Montgomery. "I'm playing for my granddaddies and
grandmamas who gave their blood, sweat and tears farming to put clothes on my back. People
don't realize what lots of farmers have to go through to get food to the stores. I can't
wait to do it."
"Sharing the stage with these legendary performers to help family farmers is an
incredible honor," said Troy Gentry. "We have always respected what Farm Aid
accomplishes, but have never had to the chance to attend one. We believe family farmers
help form the backbone of our nation."
Among the artists who will perform at Farm Aid 2007: A HOMEGROWN Festival are Willie
Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Tim Reynolds, who will join Dave Matthews, The Allman
Brothers Band, Counting Crows, Matisyahu, Guster, The Derek Trucks Band, Warren Haynes,
Supersuckers and The Ditty Bops.
Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave
Matthews host the annual concert to raise funds to support Farm Aid's work with family
farmers and to inspire people to choose family-farmed food. Since 1985, Farm Aid has
raised over $30 million to support programs that help thrive, expand the reach of the Good
Food Movement, take action to change the current system of industrial agriculture and
promote food from family farms.

Craig StewartNEW ALBUM FOR
CRAIG FEATURING 10 NEW ORIGINALS + 1 COVER
UPCOMING FESTIVALS AT GYMPIE, MILDURA & KEMPSEY
'SPIRIT OF AUSTRALIA' RELEASED ON ABC MUSIC 'HEARTLAND' COMPILATION
After the success of his debut album 'The
Spirit of Australia' (including the release of the title track on ABC Music's debut
'Heartland' CD), Craig is all set to release his second album 'Bellbirds & Blackboys'
at both next week's Gympie Muster & next month's Mildura festival.
Carrying on Craig's commitment to tell Australian stories in song, 'Bellbirds &
Blackboys' focuses on a trip out to the New England region of New South Wales, where much
of his family reside. Featuring 10 original tracks and Craig's first cover - a rocked up
version of Raining on the Rock - the album covers a wide range of topics, from stories of
the first settlers & bushrangers ('Streets & Headstones' and 'Ten Years In
Cockatoo') through to up-tempo tracks about rural life in general ('The Great Divide',
'Bellbirds & Blackboys'), comedy ('We're Real Aussies') and of course a few ballads
penned in the poetic style for which Craig has become so well known ('This Bar', 'It's
Time To Go', 'This Old Town And Me').
A song Craig feels will hold great appeal to many within the country community is 'There's
Only The Two Of Us Here Tonight' - a tribute song to Slim which has been done a bit
different. Inspired by his grandfather's love of playing the harmonica to Slim's music
late at night, Craig decided to tell the story of an old cocky whose 'old bush mates have
gone' through the use of Slim's song titles. Over 30 of Slim's song titles have been
interwoven to tell the cocky's story from Slim's perspective, and we have decided to put a
full version up on Craig's Myspace site for you all to enjoy.
Craig wanted someone a bit special to sing harmonies for the album, and who better to turn
to than his good friend from Bella, Kate Ballantyne. Kate generously contributed her
talent for which we are truly thankful. On top of that, the album features a full range of
instrumentation, with Craig's regular band lineup (bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic
guitar, drums, harmonica) being assisted by keyboard, piano, pedal steel, banjo, dobro and
even a bit of didgeridoo to create something we feel is quite unique - (and would make an
EXCELLENT Fathers Day gift - hint hint!)
Details of Craig's Gympie and Mildura shows are available at www.muster.com.au and www.milduracountrymusic.com.au
respectively. In addition, Craig will be making a special appearance at the Kempsey
Country Music Festival from 1 to 2pm on Saturday September 8th (Kempsey racecourse).
Thank you for your time, and thank you as always to all the wonderful people we have met
through the country music community over the past few years - please come up and say g'day
if you are at Gympie, Mildura, Kempsey or any of Craig's other shows and roll on Tamworth
2008!
Yours in Australian Country, Ruth & Craig Stewart

Loudilla, Loretta & Kay Johnson P.O. Box 40328 Nashville, TN 37204
Ph. 615-371-9596
_________________________________________________________________________________ Brad Paisley took an unannounced detour from his Hersheys
Presents Bonfires & Amplifiers Tour last night, bringing his band and tour mates Kellie
Pickler and Taylor Swift to Fort Campbell, KY -- home of the 101st Airborne
Division (Air Assault) -- to entertain an estimated crowd of 35-thousand soldiers and
family members stationed at the base. Paisley staged the concert as a show of appreciation
for the on-going efforts of these (and other) military personne, and for the sacrifices
made by their families and loved ones. This is the most important concert I will
play all year, said Paisley during his set. We wanted to bring a little
party to you before your next deployment. In appreciation for his efforts,
Paisley was presented with a special plaque which bears an inscription noting that it is
from the soldiers and families of Fort Campbell, and features a panoramic photo of the
commanding general and all onsite soldiersthe Division Review, which occurs every

signed by the Major General Jeffrey J. Schloesser, and includes a couple of his

appreciation for acts of exceptional service, achievement or special recognition
of a job well done, or for unique contributions towards the accomplishment of the

Vince Gill, Mel Tillis and Ralph Emery will be inducted into the Country
Music Hall of Fame this year. Honorees will be officially inducted in October during a
filmed invitation-only Medallion Ceremony at the Country Music Hall of Fame®
and Museum. Some footage will be broadcast during the 41st Annual CMA Awards
show on Nov. 7th.
Dolly Parton will debut her new label, Dolly Records, with the release of a new
country album in February, according to Billboard.biz/. "It's really the first
mainstream country record Dolly has done in 17 years," says Parton's manager, Danny
Nozell, who also serves as the GM of Dolly Records. Parton will be the sole focus of
the label, no other artists will be signed to the roster. After testing the major label
waters for possible distribution deals, Nozell says he decided on the indie path. "(I)
didn't see anything I was interested in," he says. "We have the finances
the major labels have, and I put together a marketing plan that was way more extensive
than any major has brought to me," Nozell says. Distribution is still being
finalized; an iTunes deal is in progress for digital and physical is still in the
works. The new single, "Better Get to Livin'", is scheduled to
impact radio on Sept. 24. A performance soon after is locked down on a "national
TV show in front of 20 million viewers," according to Nozell. A world tour to
support the new album will begin in the first quarter of next year. Dolly is now booked
worldwide by Neil Warnock, CEO of the Agency Group.
The Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, Inc.

The Capitol Pub Crawl: Dungan Takes Demonbreun, a free music event open to
the public and scheduled to take place along the clubs on Demonbreun Street near Music
Row, will be held Aug. 23. Live performances from Capitol Records Nashville
rising artists Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan and Eric Church will take place
in popular hotspots The Tin Roof and Dan McGuinness, while Dierks Bentley
will literally take to the streets for his show, performing on a stage set up at one end
of the closed-off Nashville street. The event, playfully named for the labels
charismatic CEO/President, Mike Dungan, is being held in cooperation with the city
of Nashville. While the music industry continues to change on an almost
daily basis, what doesnt change at Capitol Records Nashville is the quality of our
music and our artists, said Dungan. What better way to showcase the
terrific music were creating - from brand new acts to established superstars - than
a free street party? On Aug. 23, were putting the music in Music City,
baby!
Billy Ray Cyrus' debut album for Walt Disney Records, HOME AT LAST,

200 Album chart. This achievement marks the singer/songwriter's highest chart debut
since his 1993 CD release IT WON'T BE THE LAST. Additionally, both father
and daughter Miley Cyrus have albums in the Top 20 in the same week. Miley's
double-disc set HANNAH MONTANA 2/MEET MILEY CYRUS is #5 on the Top 200 and recently
certified platinum.
Red Steagall will be inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in
Carthage, TX on August 18. The celebration host Ralph Emery will welcome Red and

in Texas. I am so proud and grateful to be associated with them. I look
forward to many more years of making music and memories." Steagall's newest

"Dope Slap Soup" CD Comments - Brett
Fleming, WEVL, Memphis
"When I first saw the title of Randy McAllister's latest effort, "Dope Slap
Soup", I wasn't quite sure what to expect. But upon listening through the entire CD a
second time, I realized I had been handed a big, thick slice of great Texas blues and
roots music. McAllister has surrounded himself with a host of fine musicians on this
recording and their playing is uniformly excellent throughout the disc. Even though
McAllister is a fine harp player, his playing doesn't dominate this record. Instead he
lets his very soulful vocals, top notch song-writing from his own pen and that of fellow
Texan Mike Morgan, and the aforementioned fine studio band carry the music along on a
rousing trip through Texas. Do yourself a favor and give this disc a thorough listen, and
you'll be very pleasantly surprised. I will be spinning this one for a long time to
come." - Brett Fleming, WEVL, Memphis Randy at HOB Every Tuesday - In September -

Patti Hall's World Tour Stop at Columbia County Fair
Recording Artist Patti Hall to Open for Trailercana
World Tour Stop atColumbia County Fair
Los Angeles, CA, USA - Sing like you mean it. Ride
like you dream it. That winning mantra is working well for recording artist Patti Hall (www.pattihall.com). Her passion for horses and music
started in childhood. However, it wasnt until recently she finally grabbed the reins
when her inner cowgirl whispered it was time to go ride her dreams. Shes back in the
saddle and back behind the microphone, enjoying the ride on both counts.
This spring she released her first national single Waitin on a Train and
the song continues to fly up the New Music Weekly charts. Co-written by country heartthrob
Joe Nichols, its from her first CD Never Ask Why. The single currently
sits at #10 on the AC/HotAC Chart and is in the top 20 of the Hot 100 Top 40 & Adult
Contemporary Charts. Gaining radio play across the country, a few weeks ago it crossed
over and even started climbing the main country charts. Thats rare for an
independent artist. Local audiences will have two opportunities to hear this
newcomers velvety, haunting style live at the Columbia Country Fair.
Hall opens for Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours (www.unhitched.com). The bands world tour
includes a special stop in Dayton. This is due in part to local sponsorship support
including Airstream of Spokane, Banner Bank of Dayton, and Les Schwab of Walla Walla.
McClain was raised in a trailer park in Kentucky and the bands latest CD
Trailercana draws from humorous homegrown characters as well as touching
personal adventures. Traveling with the band is Bobby Cochran of Steppenwolf. Other guests
appearing on the new CD include Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, Tommy Smothers and
Bonnie Bramlett.
Performances are Friday and Saturday evening, September 7th and 8th at the Columbia County
Fairgrounds in Dayton. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the performers following
each show. Admission to the concert is included with purchase of a $10 fair ticket. For a

Fisher-Price Recalls Toys
Week of August 13, 2007
A voluntary recall has been announced of 967,000 Sesame Street, Dora the Explorer, and
other children's toys manufactured by Fisher-Price Inc. Surface paints on the toys could
contain excessive levels of lead. The toys were sold in retail stores nationwide May 2007
- August 2007. Consumers should immediately take the recalled toys away from children and
contact Fisher-Price. Consumers will need to return the product and will receive a voucher
for a replacement toy of the consumer's choice up to the value of the returned product.
For additional information contact Fisher-Price at (800) 916-4498 anytime or visit the Mattel website.Mattel Recalls 19 Million Toys Sent From China
By LOUISE
STORY and DAVID
BARBOZA
Published: August 15, 2007
Mattel, the worlds largest toy company, yesterday announced the biggest recall in
its history.
In a double-barreled announcement, the company said it was recalling 436,000 Chinese-made
die-cast toy cars depicting the character Sarge from the animated film Cars
because they are covered with lead paint.
At the same time, the toy maker said it was recalling 18.2 million other toys because
their small, powerful magnets could harm children if swallowed. The magnetized toys were
also made in China, but they followed a Mattel design specification.
About half of the toys in each recall were distributed in the United States.
Amid a wave of increasing safety concerns about products made in China, the recall
threatened to set the toy industry on its heels just as companies are beginning to
ship toys to stores for the holiday shopping season, when half of all toy purchases are
made.
Separately, laboratory tests have found that some Chinese-made vinyl baby bibs sold at
Toys R Us stores appear to be contaminated with lead.
Industry analysts said Mattels woes are part of a much larger problem.
If I went down the shelves of Wal-Mart
and tested everything, Im going to find serious problems, said Sean McGowan,
managing director and the toy analyst at Wedbush Morgan Securities. The idea that
Mattel with its high standards has a bigger problem than everybody else is
laughable. If we dont see an increase of recalls in this industry, then its a
case of denial.
Even Mattel executives said repeatedly yesterday that the company may have more recalls.
No system is perfect, Robert A. Eckert, Mattels chairman and chief
executive, said in a conference call. Theres no guarantee that we will not be
here again.
Shares in Mattel dropped 57 cents, to $23, during regular trading, but rose the same
amount after hours.
The mounting wave of safety concerns is forcing Mattel and other toy companies to
reconsider long-held assumptions about the safety of their products. Mattel executives
said yesterday that in the long run they are trying to shift more of their toy production
into factories they own and operate and away from Chinese contractors and
sub-contractors.
We do realize the need for increased vigilance, increased surveillance, said
Jim Walter, senior vice president of worldwide quality assurance at Mattel, in an
interview.
Still, the latest recall led to intensified calls from consumer advocates and politicians
for stricter safety standards, as well as tougher penalties for companies.
This summer alone has seen well over 13 million toy recalls, popular toys removed
from our homes and our stores because they have been found to be extremely dangerous, in
some cases lethal, to our children, said Senator Amy Klobuchar, Democrat of
Minnesota, a member of the Senate commerce committee.
Senator Klobuchar said it was increasingly clear that the Consumer
Product Safety Commission needed more financing and greater authority. The commerce
committee held a hearing last month on the safety of goods made in China.
The lead-paint recall was Mattels second in less than a month of lead-tainted toys
made in China. Together, the recalls have thrust the maker of Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels
cars into the heart of rising concern over products made in low-cost factories in China.
Last months recall of toys with lead paint included some based on characters from
Sesame Street and Dora the Explorer.
The magnetic toys involved in the new recall included 63 products that, though produced in
China, were recalled because of a design flaw on Mattels part, not a problem with
its Chinese contractors.
The magnetic toys had been produced since 2002 and sold before January 2007. They include
44 different Polly Pocket toys, 11 Doggie Day Care toys, 4 Batman toys, a One Piece toy,
and 2 Barbie toys.
Many toy makers have recalled magnetic toys since early 2006 as the consumer safety
commission, concerned that children could ingest the magnets, focused on magnets on toys
as a rising safety hazard.
Mattel said it was working with the safety commission and other regulatory agencies
worldwide, as well as with retailers to remove the affected products from stores.
Before the recall was announced, Mattel began an advertising campaign yesterday aimed at
reassuring consumers of its commitment to product safety.
Mattel said the lead-tainted products, made from May to July, were discovered in routine
safety checks. But Mattel has also been running an investigation of all its toy
manufacturing since early July. The latest recall involves toys from a different Chinese
contractor from the one that produced toys recalled earlier this month, Mattel said.
The recall is the latest in a series of such actions this year involving Chinese-made
goods, including contaminated pet food ingredients, childrens jewelry, defective
tires and tainted toothpaste. In July, one of Mattels European retail partners
noticed lead paint on some of its toys, and Mattel began an extensive investigation of the
toys in its distribution chain and of the contract manufacturers that make half of its
toys. Mattel has not stepped up checks on the nearly 3,000 companies that license its
brands to put on products other than toys, Mr. Walter said.
Yesterdays lead paint recall was caused by a subcontractor, Hong Li Da, hired by
Mattels contractor in China, Early Light Industrial. Mattel executives said Early
Light, which has worked with Mattel for 20 years, was not at fault in the paint
substitution. A number of Mattels 30 to 50 contractors in China subcontract parts of
their production to other companies, Mr. Walter said.
At least two other major toy manufacturers have begun investigations of their toys from
China this summer in reaction to the recalls, said Carter Keithley, the president of the
Toy Industry Association. Mr. Keithley declined to name those companies.
Hasbro
has increased the level of its safety checks this summer in light of the recalls, said
Wayne Charness, a senior vice president. Hasbro does not own any factories in China and
instead entirely uses contractors for its production there.
There are already many lawsuits against companies involved in the pet
food recall as well as the Thomas & Friends toy train recall.
Manufacturing experts say that companies have cut costs so much in China that more toy
testing is not affordable for many manufacturers.
If Mattel, with all of its emphasis on quality and testing, found such a widespread
problem, what do you think is happening in the rest of the toy industry, in the apparel
industry and even in the low-end electronics industry? said S. Prakash Sethi, a
professor at Baruch
College, part of the City
University of New York, who has acted as an independent monitor of working conditions
in Mattels factories for the last 10 years. Everyone is going to be found with
lots of dirty laundry.
But, he said, there is something to be said about the pressure that American and
European and multinational companies put on Chinese companies to supply cheap products.
The operating margins are razor thin, so you really should not be surprised that there is
pressure to cut corners.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is negotiating with the toy industry to conduct
broader testing of toys that are being imported, said Nancy A. Nord, the commissions
acting chairwoman. Ms. Nord also urged consumers not to overreact to the news.
In todays environment, it is easy to take recalls out of proportion, she
said. By no means is it the largest recall this agency has done, and it represents
only a tiny fraction of the hundreds of millions of toys that are sold in the United
States every year.
About 65 percent of Mattels toys are made in China, some in five factories the
company owns and operates there. Mr. Walter visited China and Hong Kong last week to meet
with all of Mattels contract manufacturers to reiterate Mattels quality rules.
The message was very clear, he said. If you cannot do these things,
please let us know. No problem, but you wont be doing business with us.
Mattel announced a $30 million charge soon after that recall, and executives yesterday
said that amount would cover the cost of this weeks recall.
Lee Der Industrial, a contract manufacturer based in southern China, was responsible for
producing the toys that contained excessive levels of lead paint in the first recall.
Mattel stopped accepting goods from the contractor, and last week the Chinese government
revoked Lee Ders export license. The owner of Lee Der, Zhang Shuhong, committed
suicide by hanging himself in a factory warehouse last Saturday, Chinese officials have
confirmed.
Mr. Eckert said in an interview that Mattel had been able to recover the costs of its
recall of the products made by Lee Der Industrial. My understanding is that Lee Der
is out of business, he added.
