The song also received two Academy of Country Music Awards for Song of the Year and Single Record of the Year. The album's title track also reached number one on the charts. Though Strait already held the record for solo number one singles, his 55th notch ties Conway Twitty's record, which includes his number one duets with Loretta Lynn.

Ryan Daniel

RyanDaniel.jpg (4551 bytes)Anyone who has seen Ryan Daniel perform can tell you that he connects with the crowd. He makes every member of the audience feel like they are the most important person there. It has always been like that, whether he was performing before his fellow classmates in high school or for the thousands of fans during his tour with "Tops in Blue."

Ryan served as a proud member of the United States Air Force for 9˝ years. Ryan was deployed to the Middle East several times to serve in our fight for freedom overseas. While in the service, he was selected to join the elite musical touring group "Tops in Blue." As a featured vocalist, Ryan performed many solos throughout the show as well as intricate a cappella pieces with the male quartet. Additionally, Ryan performed the demanding choreography required. As a member of this prestigious musical production, presented by the Air Force, Ryan toured all over the world entertaining an estimated 250,000 troops and civilians alike. This opportunity led to him meeting his producer, Barry Best.

In August of 2005, Ryan left the military to pursue his dream of music. Now, in conjunction with Barry Best Productions, Ryan is producing his upcoming debut country album Love, Life -N- Memories. The single, "A Silent Movie," is available for purchase on www.RyanDaniel.org.

Fox Mountain Country Music Festival, July 2007 Newsletter

Newsletter: July 2, 2007
RE: 4th Annual Fox Mountain Country Music Festival, Aug. 2-5, 2007
6128 Aylesford Road, Nova Scotia, Canada, B0P 1C0
(Near Berwick, in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada)

Hello Friends:

First of all I want to wish everyone a Belated Happy Canada Day. I can’t help but wonder how many of us truly realize how great it is to live in Canada and be a Canadian. We are envied by many people from around the world for our strength, kindness, compassion and hope. If you have traveled anywhere in the world, you can see this when you say you are a Canadian. As I look out my window at this beautiful, sunny, day, drinking my first morning coffee, I do realize how lucky I am.

I also just realized that exactly one month from today is opening day for the 4th Annual Fox Mountain Country Music Festival. My how time flies! Four years ago I jumped in with both feet & took on the role of music coordinator, putting together a country music festival for the park. I also fell into the role of publicity chair and also that of trying to get advertisers/sponsors. I wasn’t exactly outside my comfort zone, but I was committing myself to something new. How does one jump in head first & tackle something new and possibly overwhelming? For me it goes something like this.

I had been involved with other smaller country music events over the years and I just needed to think that this was an extension of those, only on a larger scale. Often we fall into a trap of trying to please people and vice versa. We want their blessings but often they offer opinions which sometimes differ from our own. No one knows more about my project than I, so even though I try and listen to suggestions from others, I still listen to my own head and heart and try not to get off track. I know when I do right & wrong, adding & subtracting to the weight on my shoulders. It would be stupid of me to not realize I will make mistakes & wrong decisions along the way. A good challenge can only add to success. I have a good plan and outline in my head. If I veer off to the left or right, when things don’t go right, I refer back to my primary goal when things go wrong.

Sometimes I take a chance on something new & it can lead to pleasant surprises. The bottom line is that sometimes you have to do something risky to end up with a great life experience. I network on every occasion I can, hooking up with new people. Sometimes it is the least obvious person in the group that turns out to be the most important person in the group who can get me where I want to be. I do it because I love it, not because I want people to love me. For the future, I think of the festival on a grand scale. If there are roadblocks, I’ll just take little steps, one at a time.

This year, I have put together what I feel is a good variety of talented performers. I’ve added a few different things from other years. Only when it’s over will I know if my gut reactions and decisions have been the right ones for this year. I always hope for a fine weekend, as it makes it much more pleasant for all involved. My part is only a small portion of the overall picture. There are many people who “make this happen”. The management and staff are looking forward to seeing you all again as much as I am. Come and enjoy. Any information you need to know can be found at www.foxmountaincampingpark.com/countrymusic.htm

If there is something that you are wondering about that is not on the website, don’t hesitate to call the park at 902 847 3747 or myself at 902 543 5053 and we will only be too glad to answer your questions/concerns.

Until next time, my personal thought for today is: Do the best that you can at all times.
