WHATS REALLY
IMPORTANT FOR TRISHA YEARWOOD |

|
This past year, Trisha has been
about reflecting on the things that really matter, and the Georgia native finds herself in
a great place: I got to a point where I began asking if something happens to
me tomorrow, what do I want to be doing today? I stopped doing things I didnt
want to do and stopped worrying about what people might say about the things I was gonna
do, notes Trisha. And some of that just comes with age
its
wonderful. more!

George Strait is now all-time leader for number one singles in all formats. Strait's
latest single "Wrapped" recently topped the charts, marking his 55th number one
- the third single from his 34th studio album IT JUST COMES NATURAL to do so. The first
single off the project, "Give It Away", went to the top of the country singles
chart in just 13 weeks, making it the fastest rising single of Strait's career. The song
also received two Academy of Country Music Awards for Song of the Year and Single Record
of the Year. The album's title track also reached number one on the charts. Though Strait
already held the record for solo number one singles, his 55th notch ties Conway Twitty's
record, which includes his number one duets with Loretta Lynn.
The new Rascal Flatts single, "Take Me There," written by Kenny Chesney, Wendell
Mobley and Neil Thrasher, will be included on the trio's upcoming album, STILL FEELS GOOD,
due Sept. 25 on Lyric Street Records. The band will launch its Still Feels Good Tour July
13 in Uncasville, CT, with the first leg ending in San Bernardino, CA on Sept. 15.
Porter Wagoner will open for the White Stripes at Madison Square Garden in New York City
on July 24 and appear on The Late Show With David Letterman July 25. Marty Stuart
Sun Record Company owner Shelby Singleton will be honored with an unveiling of a life size
oil portrait on August 11 during the International Rockabilly Music Festival. This honor
will portray his Larger Than Life contribution to the music industry and will
hang permanently in the Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame, located at 105 North Church Street in
Jackson, TN.
Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood will perform at the 4th annual Fashion Rocks concert
Sept. 6 at Radio City Music Hall as part of New York Fashion Week. The two-hour show
celebrates the relationship between high fashion and music and will air the following
night, Friday, Sept. 7 on CBS. Additional musical performers include Aerosmith, Alicia
Keys, Fergie, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lopez, Ludacris, Santana and Usher.
The Country Music Association turns up the heat this summer with sizzling concert
performances and heartwarming stories on CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock - a
two-hour network prime-time special airing July 23, on the ABC Television Network. The
lineup includes: Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich, Brooks & Dunn, Sara
Evans, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler,
Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, and
Reba McEntire in a duet with Kelly Clarkson.
Brad Paisleys Hersheys Presents Bonfires and Amplifiers tour is a hot ticket.
Playing to over 250,000 fans through the first 23 shows Paisley has seen an
increase in attendance of 42% over his 2006 Time Well Wasted tour, that Pollstar ranked as
the #4 country tour of the year for attendance.
Curb recording duo Bomshel and McCormick Distilling's Tequila Rose is offering fans the
chance to live life on the road in the "Be A Bomshel Roadie" sweepstakes. The
winner of the contest and their travel companion will be invited to join the duo on tour
for close to a week with their own chauffeured mini bus. The winner will also receive a
year's supply of Cruel Girl Jeans and the official Tequila Rose travel suitcase. The
promotion will end on July 31. Bomshel's latest single, The Power Of One, is
included on the recently released Evan Almighty soundtrack.
Blake Shelton has taped an episode of Paula's Party, Paula Deen's Food Network show that
is based in Savannah, GA. Shelton is the first musical guest ever on the show. He joined
Deen in the kitchen for some hot cooking and then continued their fun with a tour of his
bus. They exchanged good natured, quick-witted comments throughout the show and at the
conclusion Shelton admitted, "It's really hard to embarrass me, but Paula did
it!" After the taping Shelton enjoyed a late lunch at Deen's restaurant - The Lady
and Sons. The show will air on the Food Network in the fall.

LifeNotes: Hy Zaret, who wrote the lyrics to the classic "Unchained Melody,"
died July 2nd at home in Westport, CT, about a month shy of his 100th birthday. Most baby
boomers will remember the Righteous Brothers' version of the song. The record, produced by
Phil Spector, reached No. 4 on the Billboard chart in 1965, and was a hit again 25 years
later when it was used on the soundtrack of the film Ghost. But the song was recorded more

Fox Mountain Country Music Festival, July 2007 Newsletter
Newsletter: July 2, 2007
RE: 4th Annual Fox Mountain Country Music Festival, Aug. 2-5, 2007
6128 Aylesford Road, Nova Scotia, Canada, B0P 1C0
(Near Berwick, in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada)
Hello Friends:
First of all I want to wish everyone a Belated Happy Canada Day. I cant help but
wonder how many of us truly realize how great it is to live in Canada and be a Canadian.
We are envied by many people from around the world for our strength, kindness, compassion
and hope. If you have traveled anywhere in the world, you can see this when you say you
are a Canadian. As I look out my window at this beautiful, sunny, day, drinking my first
morning coffee, I do realize how lucky I am.
I also just realized that exactly one month from today is opening day for the 4th Annual
Fox Mountain Country Music Festival. My how time flies! Four years ago I jumped in with
both feet & took on the role of music coordinator, putting together a country music
festival for the park. I also fell into the role of publicity chair and also that of
trying to get advertisers/sponsors. I wasnt exactly outside my comfort zone, but I
was committing myself to something new. How does one jump in head first & tackle
something new and possibly overwhelming? For me it goes something like this.
I had been involved with other smaller country music events over the years and I just
needed to think that this was an extension of those, only on a larger scale. Often we fall
into a trap of trying to please people and vice versa. We want their blessings but often
they offer opinions which sometimes differ from our own. No one knows more about my
project than I, so even though I try and listen to suggestions from others, I still listen
to my own head and heart and try not to get off track. I know when I do right & wrong,
adding & subtracting to the weight on my shoulders. It would be stupid of me to not
realize I will make mistakes & wrong decisions along the way. A good challenge can
only add to success. I have a good plan and outline in my head. If I veer off to the left
or right, when things dont go right, I refer back to my primary goal when things go
wrong.
Sometimes I take a chance on something new & it can lead to pleasant surprises. The
bottom line is that sometimes you have to do something risky to end up with a great life
experience. I network on every occasion I can, hooking up with new people. Sometimes it is
the least obvious person in the group that turns out to be the most important person in
the group who can get me where I want to be. I do it because I love it, not because I want
people to love me. For the future, I think of the festival on a grand scale. If there are
roadblocks, Ill just take little steps, one at a time.
This year, I have put together what I feel is a good variety of talented performers.
Ive added a few different things from other years. Only when its over will I
know if my gut reactions and decisions have been the right ones for this year. I always
hope for a fine weekend, as it makes it much more pleasant for all involved. My part is
only a small portion of the overall picture. There are many people who make this
happen. The management and staff are looking forward to seeing you all again as much
as I am. Come and enjoy. Any information you need to know can be found at
www.foxmountaincampingpark.com/countrymusic.htm
If there is something that you are wondering about that is not on the website, dont
hesitate to call the park at 902 847 3747 or myself at 902 543 5053 and we will only be
too glad to answer your questions/concerns.
Until next time, my personal thought for today is: Do the best that you can at all times.
