Doc Wooten performed His High Energy Country Tunes
Los Angeles, CA, April 04, 2007 - The FedEx Forum rocked last night as Doc
Wooten performed his high energy country tunes. The halftime show came as the Memphis
Grizzlies took on the Phoenix Suns in a late season showdown. "You could feel the
energy", Doc says. "This is an opportunity I couldn't pass up. How often do you
get to kick your music in front of 15,000 folks?"
This was one of few opportunities for an artist this year with the Grizzlies. Memphis has
always been known as a country music town. The FedEx Forum has already housed shows by
George Strait, Ronnie Milsap, and Taylor Swift. Keith Urban performs in June.
For more information on Doc Wooten, see his website at www.DocWooten.com
or call his management at 901-336-2225

Skyla Spencer
Skyla Spencer has released
"Reach for the Stars" as the new single from her You Said You'd Call Me cd.
Reach for the Stars can also be found on the 100th edition of Hotdisc.
"'Reach for the Stars' tells an amazing story of dreams, courage, and
determination," says Skyla. "The mother sends a powerful message to her daughter
by encouraging her to believe in herself and have faith - to reach for her dreams and
goals in life. The idea for this song came from the relationship I have with my mother.
She has instilled in me self-confidence, encouragement, determination, and to work hard
for what you want in life. This song talks about how these traits are passed down from
generation to generation. I hope, someday when I am married and have children, that I pass
down these traits to my children.
Skyla Spencer's music is a cross between pop-country and Christian country. "Growing
up I listened to different genres, but I always came back to country. There was just
something about it," Skyla explains.

SongU.com: March Gold Stars And Special OfferHi everyone,
I hope your spring is off to a great start. We're enjoying the warmer weather here and
looking forward to the Easter Holidays. You know, we often get asked if SongU.com members
are having any success and whether or not working on your craft as a songwriter can really
make a difference in your writing and your chances of success. So we've decided to send
out this special "Gold Stars" edition of the SongU.com news so we can feature
some of our members' accomplishments for the month of March 2007.
If you're not a member of SongU.com, but are thinking of joining, we'd love to have you
"on campus" (see details below on our new member special where you get your
first three months of Platinum Membership for just $50, plus a free song evaluation if you
sign up by the weekend using redemption code GOLDSTAR).
Gold Stars - March 2007
When we launched SongU.com, people immediately started emailing me asking about our
"success" stories and I would respond "we've just launched...check back in
a couple of years and I'll let you know". Well, some three and a half years later,
I'm happy to report that our amazing and talented group of hard-working members are making
things happen on an almost daily basis. Through the first three months of 2007 -- over 50
song contracts have been offered to SU members (about 40 have come through Spin N' Pitch).
And there's other cool stuff from winning contests and co-writing with pro writers, to
holds, cuts and airplay. So...maestro, please cue the fanfare music for March Gold Stars.
Contest Winners: Congrats to Yvonne P. whose song, "My Eyes
Wait" was the winner in the Fresh Start contest and Christian J.whose song,
"Anything For You" won Best Blues Gospel Song of 2006 from the Australian Gospel
Music Association. Cheers for Thomas H. whose song, "Saying Goodbye" was an
honor winner in the Great American Song Contest (GASC) and Rebecca P. whose song,
"Men In Texas Ain't Sexist" was a finalist in the GASC. Take a bow Mitch T. and
Barb M. whose song, "Soli Deo Gloria" is a semi-finalist in the God-Song
Songwriting contest. Mitch's song, "Rescue" was a 2nd runner up in the same
contest. Applause for Marla L. whose song, "Boogey Woogey Man" was a finalist in
the John Lennon songwriting contest (Children's category) and Rolf S. whose song,
"Beyond Words" was the Grand Prize winner in the recent John Lennon Songwriting
Contest.
Contracts, Cuts, Airplay and More: Way to go Brett M. who recently
released his CD, "Second Chances" and Bill E. whose song, "Tall and Tan
& 23" was the featured track of the day recently at Garageband.com. Applause for
Tony C.who has signed songs, "Friday Nights" and "His Great Love" with
The Slideshow Company. Tony also signed one of his songs recently with a print publisher.
Hooray for Gene R. who has signed 5 songs with LA based Film/TV publisher, Global Graffiti
Music. A high-five to Vaughan D. who recently signed songs with My 3 Kids Music, Rock Diva
Music and Sugar Daddy Publishing. Nicely done, Casey H. whose song, "Physical
World" is in the indie film Supermodels. Way to go Rebecca P. whose song,
"Somebody's Romeo" has been cut by Wil Gravatt and "Winter Storm"
which has been cut by Vernon Roberts. Rebecca also found out that her song, "The
Anthem" was cut by J.K. Coltrain. Congrats to Lorna F. and Sue B. for their song,
"Two Hearts Dancing As One" recorded by Hayley Oliver is currently receiving
airplay on over 170 stations. A Kodak moment for Mitch T. who heard his song,
"December Rain" (co-written with Eva W. & Stephen M.) on the radio for the
first time. A standing ovation for Brian H. whose song, "In >From The Metro"
was recently used on an MTV reality show and his song "Make A Little Room For
Me" was recently used on Noggin's Degrassi's September Special..
Late Breaking News: I'd be negligent if I didn't send a shout out to Joe
L. whose song "First Last Kiss" is on hold for Alan Jackson (it was previously
on hold for Andy Griggs courtesy of our Street Pitch rep). Joe also just returned from
Nashville where he was setup by a publisher to co-write with a couple of their signed
staffwriters (connection courtesy of one of our SU coaches who made it happen). On a
related note, congrats to Cheryl A. who was notified late yesterday by us that her song,
"What Is And What Should Be" is on hold by the producer for artist Casey
Jamerson (connection also courtesy of another SU coach who made it happen). And some more
late breaking news, congrats to members, Donna G. and Mitch T. whose song, "On My
Family Tree" stood out at the NSAI Symposium Saturday and won the single-song
showdown. Mitch and Donna are receiving a contract from Song Garden Publishing and plugger
Brad Kennard already has plans to pitch it to Tim McGraw.
And While We're At It Spin N' Pitch Congratulates...
March was another great month for our members on Spin N' Pitch with 11 members receiving
contract offers and another 6 receiving notes of interest in their songs from artists.
Hat off to the following members who received single song contract offers from our various
guests during the month of March...
