Nikki Hornsby I just talked with the Deutschland Country Music HITPARADE man on the phone and they are putting one Nikki Hornsby song "Flying Over Sweet AL" from "JUST WAIT" to start on their charts for an entire month. Then following up with another after that......yes! There is a large German Major Station program director who called me as well who is adding "Money's Worth" as his choice for his listeners because he said "the product is awesomely produced". The comment was from this conversation was from the Music HITPARADE: Mr. Westerwelle in Lohne GE: the "TOTAL CD MEETS HIS TASTE and a STYLE of the music throughout. The CD IS MUSIC YOU CAN ALWAYS LISTEN TO... unlike others where you can get tired of hearing after awhile." Guess that "Just Wait" is timeless:) and I am going to keep working hard too since I KNOW this is an awesome recorded product as Marty & I spend hours without a break & collaborated to the seconds on it before I came to Europe for it's test marketing. This timeless acceptance has been proven after test marketing results so independently with the consumer of all ages for this last year: Thank God, RADIO EUROPE is giving the music airtime...yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jaime Beaver Here is the latest news on Jaime. I moved her to Dallas, Texas, we arrived on Monday, January 9th, I will stay with her for 4-6 weeks to help her get settled. We went to a professional music seminar yesterday for 5 hours and met some very important people in the music industry; Marty Rendleman who managed LeAnn Rimes for three years when she first got started, Felicia Culotta, Britney Spears personal assistant and Chris Harrison, host of the hit show The Bachelor. We will be meeting Marty for lunch in a couple weeks, she will be out of town next week. We gave them all Jaime's Artist Package and she got an opportunity to sing a song, say a prayer. At the end of this month we will be going to Nashville, TN, Jaime is recording a duet with Troy Cook Jr. which should get lots of radio airplay at least overseas. Country Cuts with Roger Ryan Ireland’s newest country singing star James Quinn has released his long awaited second album. ‘Talkin’ To The Wrong Man’ is a tasty selection of country standards such as Talk Back Trembling Lips and No One Will ever Know and new songs like Childhood Memories and The Shores Of Jordan form the pen of Iris De Ment. Not only have the Irish stormed the charts, but with very differing musical styles :- No.1 - DANIEL O'DONNELL - The Rock'n'Roll Tour No.2 - WESTLIFE - The Number Ones Tour No.4 - U2 - Vertigo 2005 - Live from Chicago At the very top of the charts is the King of Easy Listening, Daniel O'Donnell, with a DVD of his recent rock'n'roll concert tour. Not content with reaching the No.1 slot Daniel has done it the hard way and knocked major boy-band Westlife from it's top slot. The Rock'n'Roll Tour is great entertainment. It features over 2 and a half hours of wonderful nostalgia from the 50's and 60's with a host of colourful young dancers, a full size Cadillac and an American diner on-stage as part of the imaginative stage set. And then of course there's yer man himself strutting his stuff with a massive 43 tracks, singing great ballads like Words and Wonderful Tonight as well as rock numbers That'll Be The Day and Jailhouse Rock. The fact that Daniel is able to squeeze such massive acts as Westlife and U2 into a supporting role may surprise a lot of people, but it really shouldn't. In the recent Channel 4 Hall of Fame series Daniel was comfortably in the Top 50 "artists of the century", standing out as the beacon of easy listening amongst the likes of Robbie Williams, Madonna, Oasis and Coldplay of the current crop of stars. He is after all the only artist to feature in the UK album charts each of the last 18 years and this is his third No.1 music video in as many years. Donal Gill has started a new bluegrass radio show here in Cork. He is a first-year student in UCC and pitched the possibility of presenting a bluegrass show to College Campus Radio. At first they offered him a half-hour slot, but recently they have extended this to a one-hour show. He has received good feedback and it is great to know that young students, and the general public, are getting a chance to hear a style of music that is broadly ignored by broadcasters in Ireland. The programme is called 'Rawhide' and at present goes out every Wednesday at 11.00 a.m. until noon on 97.4FM. Be sure to tune in if you live in Cork or are just passing through. Donal trained in presenting radio shows on 'Bluegrass & Beyond', a one-and-a-half-hour show on CUHFM, and provides excellent backup when Kevin Gill is unable to man this show. As a musician, Donal plays mandolin and guitar; he brings a good insight and understanding of bluegrass music and presents a very informative and exciting show. Long may it last. This week we are pleased to bring you news of a new country music venue in Cork City.The Deanrock in Togher have announced plans to run country music every Thursday night and will feature all of the top names on the Irish country music scene. I have no doubt that Stacey’s exactly what we’ve been looking for…a new star in the field of radio promotion.” Nichols will begin working with Midas Nashville on February 1, after completing her duties through the January 30 chart with Lyric Street, for whom she has served as Promotion Coordinator. Prior to that position, she was a promotion director at KQFC in Boise, ID. Nichols will work from Midas’ offices in Nashville for several months before relocating out West, possibly to Salt Lake City. In addition to Reeves, who handles the Northeast territory in addition to his duties as National Director of Promotion, Midas Nashville’s talented regional promotion roster includes Shari Roth (Midwest), Clay Henderson (Southeast) and Mike Severson (Southwest). Mary Befera serves as Associate Director of Promotion for the label. After introducing the industry to its growing staff, Midas Nashville’s debut event at CRS (Country Radio Seminar) 37 in February will feature performances by the label’s first two signed artists, veteran country hitmakers Emerson Drive—whose first single for the label will release to radio that month—and exciting newcomer Lindsey Grant.
