May 15, 2005 |
| Hi All, Seems like the weekend just got here and it's nearly gone! The older
I get, the faster time flies by and the slower I get.. somehow, that just doesn't seem
fair. Wouldn't it be great if we could be like "Orkins" (Mork from Ork)? They
were born old and got younger as they got wiser! Now that's what I call a great plan!
On with the news...

Koehler Obituary - Funeral and Visitation Times
Vincent D Koehler Sr.
November 23, 1939 - May 11, 2005
Vince Koehler, at the age of 65 peacefully passed away on May 11, 2005 while at home with
his wife and family. Vince waged a battle against cancer for the past two years, and
defied the odds through a courageous will to live and the prayers of many.
The visitation will be at McGilley funeral home on 123rd and State Line on Sunday from
3:00 - 6:00. The funeral will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Roeland Park at 51st and
Mission Road at 11:00 AM on Monday.
In 1992 when Vince suffered from cardiac arrest, a courageous young man by the name of
Jason Warrick found Vince and performed CPR to keep him alive. Police officer Mike Ember
aided Jason. The family is forever grateful for the time we've had to experience Vince's
life journey through 2005 where fourteen grandchildren got to know and fall in love with
their grandpa.
Vince went to Visitation Grade School, Rockhurst High School, Rockhurst College, and UMKC
where he earned his MBA. Always striving to be the best in his career, Vince was
recognized for his unbelievable work as a member of the Ambassador Club at B.F. Ascher
Company, and the Presidents Club of ADP.
Vince was a member of the Knights of Columbus John Roe Council, Breakfast at 8:00 Club,
Sertoma Club, Honorary Directors of Rockhurst College, Tribe of Mic-O-Say, Science Fiction
Club, KC Film Society, and KC Film Critics Circle. Vince served on the school board of St.
Agnes and Scout Cub Master 1977 - 1986 where he was awarded the Pelican, a Catholic adult
leader award.
Vince's passion for movies and the arts was incredible. His passion was lived out as a
movie critic where he served as a co-producer of Entertainment Spectrum a show on American
Cablevision, and with the Johnson County Gazette where he wrote weekly columns that
included reviews of movies, theater, restaurants, and travel. Even though Vince was
severely ill, he wrote his column up to the last hours of his life and the columns can
also be found on his website at www.entertainmentspectrum.com
Vince will always be remembered for his cartoons that are mailed out each Christmas season
that framed his beloved family and friends within a movie set where his imagination could
describe his love for everyone.
Vince was proceeded in death by his Mother and Father Dr. William and Olive Koehler, his
brother Jack Koehler, his sisters Mary Katherine Elwell and Betty Kopp, and his wife's
parents Gerald and Rosetta Altman.
Survivors include: His beloved wife Marieann Koehler who was the love of his life. Vince
and Marieann were inseparable and the love between them could be seen in their actions to
serve each other and in the sparkle of each of their eyes when their eyes met. His brother
Dr. William Koehler Jr., his uncle Deacon George Kopp who basically acted as his father
after his own dad's death at age 5, daughter Gerry McGraw and husband Chris, daughter Mary
Kay Mitchell and husband John, son Vince Jr. and wife Brenda, son Paul and wife Renee, son
John and fiancé Kimberly Miller. Grandchildren Jeff, Michael, Danny, Mark, Alex, Reagan,
Mallie, Bailey, Alicia, Brittney, Abigail, John, Natalie and Lucia.

WITH LOVE TO VINCE KOEHLER
Last night we received word (See family letter below) of the passing on of a wonderful
loving and generous man. He was full of life and wonder and loved helping others and did
just that until his departure. He is now home with his maker and looking down on all with a
happy heart.
Note: Asking nothing in return, Vince loved devoting part of his life promoting tons of
rising country music artist and many others in the entertainment world. Visit his site at

We will miss you Vince
With Love and Prayers
Joe Tinoco, Tamra Holden and Fans and Staff.
Below is Letter from Vince's Loving Family
Family & Friends:
We are sad to let you know that Vince passed away around 2:20 PM on May 11, 2005. In his
last days, his breathing was labored. We are happy that he is peaceful and in a better
place.
As usual, today he had a nice breakfast and enjoyed homemade waffles. He always enjoyed
his food. I felt as long as he liked to eat he would make it longer.
Well God had other ideas. He is at peace and resting after worrying so much about his
health. We know that Vince is in the best hands now and blessed with Gods Heavenly Grace.
He left me in good hands and always took such good care of me. He was always such a gentle
and kind person. He was able to accomplish anything he wanted to do even if everyone said
he couldn't.
Even this morning while I was having my checkup at the doctor he had our daughter taking
dictation of his thoughts for the country corner section article for the next issue of the
Johnson's County Gazette newspaper. The article he worked on this morning is posted on his
website: http://www.entertainmentspectrum.com/index/music/522/countrycornernewsapril2005.html
The family plans on continuing Vince's website. My son, John, who ran his website will
keep it up to-date. http://www.entertainmentspectrum.com
Our niece Marilynn and nephew Jay were visiting with Vince when he peacefully looked up
and passed away to be with our Lord.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers during this time. He really appreciated it and
we felt your prayers.
I will update everyone on the funeral arrangements when I know them tomorrow.
God Bless,
Marieann

Jaci RaeI officially
made it to best seller status Wednesday!
Hi everyone, I just wanted to share the news with you. I officially made it to
best seller status yesterday and so I am officially a best seller on the national charts!
Unbelievable!
It's an incredible thing and thank you to every one of you who stood by me, held my hand
as we waited with baited breath and watched as I went from out of 10 million books on sale
this week from 107 thousand to 19 thousand then to #19 and then on to Best seller author
status (too many numbers to count)!
VoiceAmerica also has just asked me to do a 13 weeks series on their network, so if you
aren't able to hear my live on Thursday nights because it's family time or whatever you
will be able to as it will be a Wed show during the afternoon and it's broadcast and
syndicated to over 10 million people. It's quite an honor! I haven't signed the contracts
yet, but lawyers are looking over them and my team is talking to me about my time (I am
over extended as it is)
But even if I say no (don't think so yet), you can hear me live on my weekly show every
Thursday night. Get about 55 thousand listeners but 3.7 million a month.
At any rate. I just wanted to say thank you all my family and friends who helped spur me
on! You are the greatest and I share this victory with you! It's yours as well! Gotta go,
there is a big party about to happen and I have to go! Many blessings. Me :-)
Jaci has officially become a Best Seller! Check her website: www.jacirae.com for further details on Jaci's
appearances on radio, television, concerts and book store appearances throughout the U.S
as well as reading her critically acclaimed articles.
Jaci's books have received rave reviews in such premier newspapers as The Washington Post
and The Tennessean. Jaci's music and books are available at many retail establishments
across the US, including Barnes and Noble, Sam Goody, Borders, Tower Records and more. You
can also enjoy Jaci's music, one song at a time by downloading from iTunes or any of the
other download sites!
Ernie Ashworth, Grand Ole Opry Star This is a great CD! The first 2 songs are Terrific.
All in all its a great CD and it should do well for her.
Richard Leiby of The Washington Post has this to say about Winning Points With The Woman
In Your Life One Touchdown At A Time. Country songbird Jaci Rae's latest book, Winning
Points With The Woman In Your Life One Touchdown At A Time, is sure to drive football
loving men right into their end zones! The award-winning singer's 10th book tackles the
subject of improving romantic relationships. Cleverly using football plays, scrimmage
strategies and tactical maneuvers as analogies, she shows the male reader how to score big
points with their woman.
Chris Allen, Big Kat Morning Show, KTCO, Big Kat 98.9 Jaci Rae does her finest work to
date...these are the songs that formed her, no wonder why there is so much heart and soul
in them.
Raymond Phillips, Country Harvest Radio, Australia Can't Push a River" is truly a
first class product, something Jaci can really be proud of from the first to the last
track. It has made my task hard to choose which one should be used first for airplay.
Definitely marked for regular rotation on Country Harvest. CONGRATULATIONS on "Can't
Push a River".

EXPLAINING THE MONKEY.
I recently wrote a little story titled The Monkey in the Corner.
* For reference, I am placing it at the bottom of this page.
Like life itself, the tale lacks a good ending and has hardly any plot. This goes against
the rules of good fiction.
In our ignorance, Misty and I got some good laughs out of it, before we realized it was
flawed.
The bulk of the trouble was caused by the appearance of a monkey in what was meant to be a
serious commentary on psychiatry. Im sorry about it, and, by way of atonement, I
will admit this: It wasnt my fault.
That monkey had no business in this story, and Im not sure how he got there. He does
seem familiar. I think hes from a monkey story I wrote some time back. I let him
stay in because he didnt have any lines, but I wont make that mistake again.
Then again... sometimes in life we just need a monkey.
Jack Blanchard
* THE MONKEY IN THE CORNER.
The patient, Mr. Blanchard, droned on from the psychiatrists couch: ...the voice in
my mind keeps repeating things. Its very annoying... and sometimes it gets on a
song... always a song I hate...It just...
Doctor Barney popped out of his semi doze: You hear voices in your head?
Oh, not schizophrenic voices, said the patient. Just my normal internal
monologue.
Yeah, right. Normal, thought the shrink, in his own thought voice, which was
being sarcastic.
Thats when the good doctor saw the monkey in the corner.
At first it looked like a shadow from the potted palmetto, but then he saw that it was
clearly a monkey,
and it was looking back at him.
Mr. Blanchard was still rambling away in that whiny monotone that made psychiatrists
demand the big bucks, but Dr. Barneys attention was on the new wildlife that had
somehow gotten into his office.
His own inner voice was busy: Could I be hallucinating? Do doctors do that? Should I
call Animal Control or check myself into the squirrel college?
The monkey rolled back his lips and tossed the doctor a grotesque grin.
The doctor said to the patient, Mr. Blanchard, I want you to sit up now. Thats
it. Sit straight up and look around the room. Now, tell me what you see
Well, said the patient, I see a nice, well-decorated office, and a
beautiful sunny day through the window.
I get it! Youre absolutely right! I should be happy! I can CHOOSE to be happy! I can
turn my back on petty annoyances, hold my head up high, and take my rightful place in
society! Thank you, doc. Youre a genius!
I guess I wont be coming back. And he left, closing the door behind him. Dr.
Barney and the monkey both looked at the door.
Mrs. Finch, the receptionist, noting that the patient was leaving before the hour was up
said, Is everything all right, Mr. Blanchard?
He said, I didnt mention the monkey.
She said, Thank you.

ANN-MARITA CLAIMS THE TOP SPOT
Australias Ann-Marita has gone all the way to Number 1 on
the Australia International Country Music Chart! She is also Number 20 on the Worldwide
Mainstream Most Played "Major & Indie" Artists Chart. Both charts are
compiled from small to medium market stations by Gary Bradshaw.
Ann-Marita has her own style of country. While she grew up listening to Dolly Parton,
Johnny Cash, and Kenny Rogers, her influence by other musical styles, like rock and blues,
color the sound that is so unique you instantly know its her.
Ann-Marita describes her debut CD as being about growing up, and having to do it a
little faster than expected. Its about heartbreak, survival and finding your place
in the world
When someone tells me that they were moved by one of my songs,
I
know that Ive hit the mark. Ann-Marita wrote all of the songs for her
self-titled debut album, released in June 2004.
Ann-Marita has already traveled around the world, going to school and performing. She was
born and raised on a farm in the Norwegian mountains. She then spent many years living in
a small mining community north of the Arctic Circle. At fifteen, she spent a year living
in Iowa, as a foreign exchange student. This was followed by Gothenburg, Sweden, where she
landed a two-year contract as the lead vocalist in an international show band performing
on cruise ships in northern Europe. Ann-Marita landed in Australia in 2003.
Ann-Maritas appears on the cover of the April edition of Blazing Boots and is
featured in Country Music Capital News, Australias top country music magazine. She
has also appeared in several magazines and websites, including the Inside Connection,
Smother.net, and CountryReview.com. Ann-Marita is about to return to the studio to begin
recording her sophomore album.
For more information on Ann-Marita, please contact Laura at wildfirepublicity@comcast.net or

SKYLA SPENCERS DEBUT ALBUM YOU SAID YOUD CALL ME Skyla Spencer, an aspiring country music artist, shut down her
dance studio, packed up her belongings, and moved from West Virginia to Music City two and
a half years ago. Well on her way to being countrys next big star, Skyla is making a
mark overseas and here in the United States. Some of her past releases have topped such
charts as Indie World, Inside Country, Indie Tracker, and also charting on ECMA, Power
Source Indie Chart, and the New Music Weekly Chart.
Skyla Spencers debut album, You Said Youd Call Me, is slated for release in
June. Her next single, You Said Youd Call Me, will be hitting radio in
June or July. Skyla says: You said Youd Call Me was a blast to
record! I feel many people will be able to relate to this song - both women and men".
When asked how she describes her music, Skyla replies My music is fun, energetic,
& up-lifting. I love a sense of humor, and that shows through on some of my songs. I
also enjoy writing ballads. Some of the songs on this album are from real life
experiences, but its through these experiences, either good or bad, that I have
become stronger. My first album is dedicated to the people I have lost in my life and to
the troops who sacrifice so much for us. The album features a song titled If I
Were Rain that is a special dedication to the troops. It explains how, in the tough
times that we are facing, the one thing that we can do is to pray for one another.
If I ! Were Rain will be hitting Christian radio in July, and country radio in
the fall.
Skyla Spencer showcased at CRS 2004, and has been an active participant in Fan Fair/CMA
Music Fest for the last three years. This year, Skyla will be showcasing on the CCMA stage
on June 8th, where she will be performing two original songs from her debut album. Skyla
is scheduled to be at the Convention Center during the CMA Fest on Friday, June 10th and
on Sunday, June 12th; more dates and times to come. She will also be appearing at the
Texas Troubadour Theater for a meet-in-greet on Friday June 10th. Fans may also catch a

NEW FEATURES ADDED TO ANGRY COUNTRYAngryCountry
is preparing a new service that reaches out to music fans and helps promote artists at the
same time. In preparation for its scheduled launch in July, Angry Country is seeking
updated artist bios and digital photos (photos must be large enough for fans to print at
home or use as a computer desktop image.)
Visitors to Angry Country come to the site looking for country newcomers as well as the
current chart-toppers. All country music related genres are covered on the site, including
bluegrass, Texas country, and Christian Country. Angry Country is currently seeking more
new artists to review and promote. They are accepting materials for contests and other
promotions for the summer and fall months.
The name Angry Country comes from the less common interpretation of the word:
sharp; keen; stimulated. Enraged by the lack of real news and updates on country music
artists, Angry Country decided to create a public forum for that information to be
gathered and distributed. While the website was created out of frustration, the anger, in
the traditional sense of the word, has subsided a bit as they've begun to learn how
Nashville works. But their attitude and focus remains the same: Great music should always
be heard. Angry Country is not impressed by an artist's ranking on the charts, or their
power in the industry. It's about the music. If the music is great, they want to hear it;
and they want their readers to know it's out there!
AngryCountry is currently scheduling interviews and accepting showcase invitations for the
2005 CMA Music Festival aka Fan Fair. Press kits are being accepted at 1205 Rose Lynn
Lane, Birmingham, AL 35215-5907. Advertisers can contact Michael Allison at 205-853-0584.
