A Colbert Christmas
May 22, 2008
1 of 2 pages
There's more than enough news here to chew
on for awhile... I know... it's about time! I want to reassure you, I
haven't been goofin' off all this time. I've actually been busier than
usual. I spent a good while creating a brand new web site for Official
MKOC artist, Hoyt Hughes to introduce his brand new CD. The info on that
is posted below in news. I've also been working on a new design for
another MKOC Official artist, Tony Oliphant who is putting the final
touches on his new CD. His site hasn't been changed as yet.. I'm waiting
for the CD and all the new photos, etc. so I can complete the new site.
I'll send the announcement once that has all been completed. I promise
you this, you won't want to miss out on the new music from either of
these artists. I feel so privileged to have such talents as a part of
MKOC. They do me proud!
Aside from the computer work, I've been
bustin' my hump with spring cleaning, painting and redecorating of the
house. I'm not sure which job is harder.. using my brain or what little
is left of my "Brawn".
Before I start off with the rest of the
news, I have to tell y'all, I'm a bit perplexed. There's a great contest
on MKOC where TWO winners will receive a free autographed CD of a
country star's newly released album, yet only ONE person has even
attempted to enter the contest and it was the wrong answer. This ain't
rocket science, folks. All you have to do is play the short clip of the
posted song and send your entry naming the song and the artist singing
it. As this artist is very well known it shouldn't be at all difficult
and if you're not sure, there's even a clue to help you find the artist
and the song on MKOC. I make these contests pretty easy and I fail to
understand why no one takes advantage of them to get FREE CDs. So...
please give it a shot and if you feel for any reason that it's too hard
or not worth the effort, I'd love to hear your ideas on how to make
these contests more appealing. I gotta tell ya, I work a lot harder to
get these CDs than you'll ever have to and I do it all for you. Get the
free music and save your money for a couple gallons of gas!

Find Books, Music, Videos, Software, Electronics, Website Hosts/Servers .... Don't pay the
high prices you find in the stores. I've researched the links posted to give everyone an
opportunity to buy great things at the best prices.
Artists, be sure to check out the "Info" section as it's been updated with even
more info.. web links, sheet music, instruments and more.
Yee-Haww! Hoyt's back with a whole new web
site and new music. Hoyt's been making appearances on radio and in
Nashville promoting his new limited edition mini CD, "Easy Street" which
has 4 new songs... 2 of which which will be on the full CD. The other 2
will only be attainable through the mini CD and therefore, collector's
items! Lots of great things are happening and you won't want to miss a
moment of it so get over to Hoyt's new site and start enjoying the ride
now! I'll keep you posted as things progress.
For those of you who are new to MKOC and
Hoyt's music, be sure to check out his last CD, "The Next Voice You
Hear". Both CD's are available for sale on the web site using PayPal.

CRACKER BARREL OLD COUNTRY STOREŽ ADDS AARON TIPPIN TO EXCLUSIVE MUSIC
LEBANON, TENN. (April
24, 2008) – Building on its reputation as a welcome home for country
music artists, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. will be the
exclusive home of Aaron Tippin’s newest CD entitled He Believed.
On sale at all Cracker Barrel locations beginning May 6, He Believed
features six classic tracks and six recently recorded songs, including
the title song which is Aaron’s incredibly moving tribute to his father.
“Although this CD is dedicated to my
Dad, I hope it speaks to everyone who has had a mentor like he was to
me,” says Tippin. “I am grateful to Cracker Barrel for believing in me
and this music. I am honored to partner up with Cracker Barrel on this
project that is so dear to my heart.”
Similar to his previous #1 hit records,
Aaron and his wife, Thea, wrote several of the recently recorded songs
on this record, including He Believed. The song is a touching
story inspired by the unexpected death of Aaron’s father in 2005. The
lyrics powerfully describe the emotional connection between Aaron and
his father who was also his best friend and mentor. He Believed
also features six of Aaron’s top recordings including: Working Man’s
PHD, Whole Lotta Love On The Line and I Got It Honest.
“Cracker Barrel is pleased to work with
an artist who shares our opinion that integrity and being of service to
others is important,” says Peter Keiser, Cracker Barrel’s Vice President
of Marketing. “This approach is summed up in the title of his hit song,
‘You've Got To Stand For Something,’ and working with Aaron on this very
special CD project has been an honor and a pleasure.”
Available May 6 at all Cracker Barrel
locations and online at crackerbarrel.com, He Believed is a
powerful addition to Cracker Barrel’s growing collection of authentic
country music. In the last year, Cracker Barrel has released exclusive
recordings by Alabama, Lonestar, Josh Turner and Merle Haggard.

Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan
30 TRACKS. 28 page full color booklet. All cd's autographed.
Jack Blanchard and Misty Morgan will forever be remembered for the novel
pathos of hits like Tennessee Birdwalk and Somewhere In Virginia In The
Rain. But before the bright lights of stardom found them Jack and Misty
were busy working underground, writing and producing superb cuts for a
fascinating cast of characters and talents who are today, unjustly,
largely forgotten. Hear Jacqueline Hyde And The Moonfolk take a rocket
ship into outer (and inner) space, Rusty Diamond have an existential
moment on the battle-front, Brad Wolfe investigate reincarnation and
Joel Mathis evaporate into the past on his Time Machine amidst a
carnival of other sonic wonders.
Once heard this disc will inspire sounds you've never heard before and
thoughts you never thought before. Remastered with exclusive liner notes
and many previously unreleased tracks all cuts make their definitive
first appearance on CD here. It's kind-a-country, kind-a-pop,
kind-a-weird - so strap in... another world awaits!
David Thrussell, Omni Recording Corporation
A wild collection of extraterrestrial country, pulp, pop, r&b and even
some doo wop influenced tunes from the outerspace fringes of 60s & 70s
Nashville & beyond -- largely from the brain bananas of Jack Blanchard &
Misty Morgan! We knew that Jack & Misty recorded some fairly far out
country gems as a duo -- but this crazy set really opens our minds to
how wild they were as writers, producers & arrangers! It truly rivals
Joe Meek's productions when it comes to pulpy themes and unpredictable
stylistic range -- while carrying a weird, earthier rustic & rural
groove. Jack & Misty sing and play often throughout, as themselves and
under pseudonyms -- and they recruited friends and peers as singers and
players for the others. Far more than just an exercise in strangeness --
the songs are good enough to stand out as more than novelties, and some
of the most respected Nashville session players of the past half century
can be found in the notes. You get electrified banjo, sax, and organ in
the same wild tunes -- any questions? The majority of songs were cut
between the fertile period between 1965 and 1974 -- with a few going
back earlier & later -- a whopping 30 tracks in all! "Strange New World"
by Jacqueline Hyde & The Moonfolk, Time Machine" by Joel Mathis, "Skellykins"
by Rusty Diamond, "I'm Hung Up On You" by Rusty Diamond, "Hit Me One
More Time" by Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan, "Let's Have A Hayride" by
Maryanne Mail, "New World" by The Jack Blanchard Group, "Monkey See,
Monkey Do" by Brad Wolfe, "Dance Of The Living Dead Chickens" by Jack
Blanchard, and more!
