Josh Gracin’s new CD, We Weren’t Crazy allows audiences to take a more personal look inside the singer’s life. Gracin wrote or co-wrote three of the albums eleven songs including the autobiographical current single, “We Weren’t Crazy.” “This album is more me,” says Gracin.  “I was able to focus on making the album I wanted to make. For the first album, I was still in the service, so I had to fly in and out of Nashville to record when I could. This time around it had my undivided attention.” Josh worked with producers Marty Williams and Brett James on the CD’s eleven tracks.

Josh Gracin’s debut album is certified gold by the RIAA and has sold over 695,000 copies. 5th Annual Fox Mountain COUNTRY Music Festival, July 31-Aug 3, 2008

6128 Aylesford Road, Nova Scotia, Canada, B0P 1C0

 Hello Friends:

Excitement is building for the 2008 Festival! As we march into spring, and because we are celebrating 5 years in the making, I have been working hard over the past few months to make this year special. I have represented the festival at the RV shows both in Halifax, NS, and Moncton, NB, as well as spreading the word wherever and whenever I can.

Besides Gilbert’s voice, when you call for information, you might have noticed a female voice at the other end of the line. Congratulations to Gilbert and Charlotte who got married, March. 29th. Gilbert, things just won’t be the same from now on! You have a partner to walk hand in hand with you. I’m such a romantic, can’t you tell!!!!

I want to say “thank you” to all of you who choose to support this festival. We at Fox Mountain, understand that you have many choices where you can go to be entertained, and we are very thankful for those of you who have decided to spend your weekend with us. Whether you were given tickets as gifts, made this part of your vacation plans, or just come along for a weekend of fun, Thanks a Bunch!

A reminder to concert-goers who purchase tickets early that you will benefit from an advance price. Buy before July 12th and save $5.00. The advance tickets should be in the hands of all the advance locations by the end of the week (April 25th) plus through Fox Mountain and myself.

♫ ♫♫ One of my major sponsors, has a subscription sweepstakes offer, with prizes consisting of concert tickets for six different festivals. They are in Merritt Mountain Music Festival-BC, Havelock Country Jamboree-ONT, Craven Country Jamboree-SK, Big Valley Jamboree-AB, Fox Mountain Country Music Festival-NS, Dauphin’s Countryfest-MB. Go to www.rvlifemag.com  for your opportunity to win. ♫♫♫

Check out our website www.foxmountaincampingpark.com/countrymusic.htm  for all information pertaining to our festival.  If there is still a question that is not answered there, just phone us or email me.

I will soon be putting the program together and ads are available. If you want to place an ad, please contact me regarding ad sizes and costs.

Until next time, my personal thought for today is: Often we don’t realize the value of something until it is taken away from us. If you have plans and thoughts, don’t wait till it is too late and nothing can be done about it. Act now!

Artists scheduled to appear include American Idol alum Bo Bice, Stella Parton, Trent Tomlinson, Mel McDaniel, Barbara Fairchild, Ray Pillow, Jason Meadows, among many others.  More names to be announced next week!!!

Famed “The Tall Texan”, Billy Walker may not have appreciated the irony.  Walker died at 77 with his wife Bettie in a horrific Alabama car accident that claimed two of his band members. The singer, known as the Masked Singer of Country Songs, was among the first to share a stage with Elvis and last to tour with Hank Williams.  He later cheated death on the 1963 plane-flight that took Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins when Hawkins gave him a ticket for another plane.

Part of the proceeds will go to the Opry Trust fund. Established in 1965, the Opry Trust Fund’s mission is to help those in the country music industry by offering financial assistance during their time of need. The Opry Trust Fund has distributed more than $2 million for needs that include: Medical Bills, Living Expenses, Rent or Mortgage, Utilities and Food, since its conception.

The event will be held at the "World Famous" Nashville Palace located across from Opryland Hotel in the Heart of Music Valley. To order tickets via credit card email info@mycelebrityconnection.com or call 931-378-9097.

GAC's "Master Series" named the official media sponsor for
Ronnie Milsap's 2008 Tour

(Nashville, TN) - Great American Country's (GAC) "Master Series" has joined forces with multi-Grammy winning country and pop music artist, Ronnie Milsap for his 2008 "#1 Hits Tour,"  booked exclusively by Buddy Lee Attractions.

"It's great news for the fans and myself," says Ronnie. "With GAC partnering with me on this 2008 tour, the fans will not only have the opportunity to see me live but also have access via GAC and their website." Beginning in June and running through the end of the year, GAC will create excitement and exposure for the tour through a "Master Series" media partnership package.  The sponsorship will capitalize on a multi-tactical marketing approach providing exposure for Ronnie Milsap's tour utilizing both GAC and GACTV.com.

GAC will utilize its network for on-air mentions and promotions and its website for streaming interviews and features from the tour.  GAC's "Master Series" with Bill Cody will mention the tour on-air and shoot in studio or on location from the tour.

"GAC has sponsored many tours but this opportunity allowed us to tie our Master Series show directly to an artist with so many number one hits," says Scott Durand, vice president of marketing for GAC."  GAC's Master Series focuses on the great artists and their songs and Ronnie's tour was a perfect fit."

Born into poverty in the Appalachian town of Robbinsville, North Carolina, Ronnie was born blind and shortly after his first birthday, he was cast off and given to his grandmother to raise. Taking refuge in music and radio as a child served Ronnie well as he honed his talents and has become pre-eminent country soul singer of his generation. His first #1 hit came in 1974 with "Pure Love."  This was the first of Ronnie's 40 #1 hits. Throughout his career, Ronnie has won 6 Grammy Awards, 4 ACM Awards, 8 CMA Awards and has sold more than 30 million albums.

The Federal Communications Commission is considering allowing consumer wireless devices to operate in the same spectrum, known as white space, as wireless equipment used in live performances. On May 13 the Grand Ole Opry, CMT/MTV Networks, CMA, Fitzgerald Hartley management, Dove Awards producer SGTV, and audio engineers for the Doves and CMT Awards SeisMic Sound called on the FCC to maintain its "cautious" approach when making a decision. Interference with wireless microphones could affect everything from in-ear monitors to wireless intercoms, as well as other essentials such as cueing systems. The aforementioned groups believe that Microsoft, Google, Motorola, and others are trying to downplay the importance of continued FCC technical testing, which they say has resulted in a poor performance prototype for sharing the white space. The groups do not want to share the space without fail-safe interference. Other companies such as Shure have also filed with the FCC to promote further testing. ~ (Sarah Skates, @musicrow, 05/13/08)
