Bobby Rey has been referred to as "a new artist with a new
country sound". I have to disagree. Bobby is a New artist, but his sound is pure
traditional country as are the songs supplied on his album, self titled, "Bobby
Rey".
There are only 7 songs on this album, but I'd rather have 7 good
songs than a long album with only a few songs I like. Bobby wrote three of the songs
himself, all ballads and all great songs; "She'll Go Home Tonight", "Can't
Hold Back the Bottle", and "The Girl I've Looked For All My Life". Another
beautiful ballad among this collection is, "Precious Memories", penned by
C. Anderson. This was the first song I heard from Bobby's album and that was all I needed
to hear to say yes to placing him on MKOC. |
