Even though "Steppin' In" is not all
traditional country, it is filled with great songs written by several wonderful
songwriters such as Marilyn Oakley (who wrote
or cowrote many of the 10 songs), Kathy Wedvik, Shayne Vaughan, Wayne Evans, and Sharon
Crews. The album was mixed and produced by Bill
Scull, Jr. who is a great singing artist in his own right and also sings backup vocals
with Eileen. For that matter, Eileen is also featured on Bill's spiritual album, "Spiritual Mountains"
singing duets with Bill. They are each dynamic talents alone, but put them together and
you have an even more wonderful sound. They blend with each other like peaches and cream.
Bill also mixed and produced "Steppin' In" at his ScullSound studio.
A point well proven of Eileen's popularity is
through her mp3.com
site where she has earned over $600 with mp3's "pay for play". To make matters
all the better, ALL of the songwriters on this album have pledged 10% of their royalties
to the children of St. Judes Children's Research Hospital from each song. What a wonderful
gesture to such a wonderful cause. I guess you could say Eileen is singing her heart out
to aid the children of St. Judes.. and you'd be right. She does indeed sing her heart out,
and her heart is apparent in each song she sings. She throws herself into it according to
how she feels about each song... hence, all the different styles. If a song feels tourchy
to her, that is the way she'll sing it, as though a torch is burnin' in her heart.
Step in to a real treat with Eileen Balzano's
debut CD, "Steppin' In" and you'll be all set to step out and dance.
