Ashley Marie is one of country music's hottest unsigned female vocalists... and she is just 15 years old. Singing with bands since age 11, this vocalist has always had her eyes on the stars, and her heart in her music. In 1997 Ashley Marie was the winner of a talent contest sponsored by Froggy 100.7 FM (WGRX) radio and Country Plus Magazine. Over 100 taped acts were submitted and the top five finalists competed in a Battle of Bands at Adventure World Theme Park in Largo, MD. Ashley was backed by the phenomenal Dixie Hiway Band. Together, they swept the competition. Over the past year Ashley has opened for some of country's top acts, including; Mila Mason, Martina McBride, John Anderson, Shenandoah, Jeff Carson, and others. Among the many favorable reviews Ashley has had over the years are these: a Country Plus Magazine reporter wrote of a 12 year old Ashley- "This youthful singer has a child-like innocence, but her voice is spiked with power and maturity." A Country Connection magazine reporter wrote in 1995- "Ashley Marie- a 12 year old blockbuster vocalist took control of the crowd in moments as she belted out familiar country favorites and a few of her own creations. We'll be seeing more of this young lady in the years ahead!" A Carroll County Times reporter in 1997- "The crowd was simply blown away!" This year Ashley has been booking events with two great bands: "The Dixie Hiway Band", who have been at her side for many years, and "On The Rise" who keep her in step almost every Saturday night at The Stables in Westminster, Maryland. Ashley's CD is loaded with a mixture of ballads and
upbeat honky tonkin revealing her versatility to portray each style with the vigor and
emotion called for. You can always tell when someone is "into" a song and Ashley
obviously has fun with the uptempo songs and shares her heart with her ballads. I was
equally impressed with Ashley's band and background vocalists, Frank Starchak, Jason Kane
(also featured in the duet, "If Only") and Ashley Marie herself. The
instumentals as well as vocals are very well done and add the richness that Ashley's voice
