Game # 7: Jennifer Wright I hope this is the right place to enter this game! I have not played this before, and thought I would give it a try. This tune and artist was kinda of hard for me to figure out, but I did I think. I hope this is right since I know this country music artist personally. The name of the tune is called "MY OLD FRIEND" and it is sung by DWIGHT WHITLEY, and it is on his "BROTHERLY LOVE" CD. This is my guess, and I had great fun playing!! Congratulations! You're absolutely correct! :) You'd have had
some explaining to do to Dwight if you hadn't gotten this one right, ey? To all of you who haven't heard Dwight's music yet, jump on over to his Official Site to hear all the RA samples! To all of you who have been there already! Go on back! There's a lot of updates and news added on a regular bases. The new CD is soon to be released and you will hear it first on Dwight's Site! Sorry, Dwight's site is no longer active online
Game #6: Jon O. Kolden I have just listened to the tune and I really had a hard time figuring out who was singing...To be honest I had to take a look through your website to find out. Anyway it must be Susan Cowan with the song "Imagine That". Took a while to find it, but I enjoyed my stay just as much as all the other times I have been at your place.:) Keep up the good work!! Well, Imagine That! You're absolutely right! I'm so happy you
enjoyed the search and it obviously paid off in an entertaining time as well as making you
a winner! Congratulations, Jon! And thanks for taking the time to play along! Do not cheat yourself the pleasure of hearing this up and rising young lady! Susan has got a voice you won't soon forget and will always want more of. She has been compared to Patsy Cline and Elvis...with a combination like that how can anyone go wrong. I think you will notice a trace of each in her music but Susan has a powerfully dynamic voice and a style that is purely Susan....traditional, sultry, and new all in one. She has been acclaimed as having a "Velvet Voice" and it fits her nicely. Visit
Susan Cowan Game #5: Nancy J. Winton of Gone Country Nancy struggled a bit with this one, but she never gave up! She surfed MKOC until she got it! She wrote: "Banging my head on the keyboard! I should have gotten that one! Clinton Gregory, "If I Were A Painting". Well, never fear, you got it! Hope your head isn't hurt too
badly, Nancy. "Master Of Illusion" (1993) contains my very favorite song of
Clinton's, "If I Were A Painting", written by Skip Ewing, another master of
songwriting. There is no "Illusion" to the fact that once again Clinton proves
he is the "Master" of delivery with his voice and his haunting fiddle. Visit my
Clinton
Gregory right here on MKOC where you'll find more music clips and
more. Game #4: It is with great sadness that I must tell you who the mystery artist has been since she was killed in a car accident on Dec. 21, 1997. Amie Comeaux is the singer Donald Smith had chosen for Name That Tune and the song he chose was "I Want The First To Last" from her one and only album, "Moving Out". Amie's album was done in 1994 when she was 18 years old and she was age 21 at the time of her demise. Country music and fans have lost a wonderful voice, but Amie will be singing with the angels for eternity. The only site I know of on Amie is on Debbies Country Music Page where Debbie has info and pics. Visit her unofficial page on Amie Comeaux
God love and keep you, Amie. Game #3: Don Smith from Tenino,Wa. Don wrote: Planet of Love, by MANDY BARNETT. Love your SITE Thanks Don! You're You're a man of few words, but they were all
the RIGHT ones! ;-) This tune also had a lot of folks baffled. The Answer was..... Mandy Barnett from her self titled album "Many Barnett". The song is "Planet Of Love". Mandy played the role of Patsy Cline for two years and can sound closer to Patsy than anyone I ever heard. She is also a gifted songstress in her own right and her album, "Mandy Barnett" is a tribute to this testimony.
Go to MKOC's Mandy Barnett section for more info
Game #2: Kari of The Brad Hawkins Fan Page Kari wrote: The artist is Stephanie Bentley. Although I'm not sure on titles, here's my guesses. The first one is "Half the Moon," and the second is "If Promises Were Gold". The album they came off of is probably her debut, "Hopechest." Good Game, I like it. I'm one of those radio addicts who knows the words to every song in the top 40, sometimes 100! Thanks Kari! You're 100% correct on all answers! This one had a
lot of folks stumped! ;) The Answer was..... Stephanie Bentley from her album "Hopechest". The first song is "Half The Moon", the second is "If Promises Were Gold". Most folks remember Stephanie from her duet with Ty Herndon, "Heart Half Empty". Now there's 2 of her great songs with the word, "half" but I can guarantee you, there's nothing halfway about Stephanie's talent or delivery. Her album "Hopechest" is all you could hope for!
Game #1: Nancy of Nancy's Nook Nancy wrote: Marli, I love the idea of a Name that Tune area. It's fun. I'm not sure, but I think this might be Lisa Brokop, the Canadian Singer, and I think the Tune is "One of Those Nights". I'd love to play Name that Tune, so I vote keep it on your page. Thanks Nancy! :) And Congratulations for being the first
contestant and first winner! The Answer was..... Lisa Brokop from her album "Every Little Girl's Dream" and the song is "One Of Those Nights". If you enjoyed the song...get the album, each song is wonderful and Lisa's voice is so strong and true.
